GREENVILLE, Pa. (pacathletics.org)--Carnegie Mellon University and Westminster College both earned victories in their regular season finales Saturday afternoon to claim a share of this year's Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) title.

Carnegie Mellon (8-2, 8-1 PAC) posted a 24-6 win over Case Western Reserve University (6-4, 5-4 PAC) at Gesling Stadium in Pittsburgh, while Westminster (8-2, 8-1 PAC) secured a 31-6 win over Geneva College (4-6, 4-5 PAC) at Memorial Field inside Harold Burry Stadium in New Wilmington.

It is the league's fifth split conference title since 2012, and first since Case Western Reserve and Washington & Jefferson College in 2017. The PAC title is the first for CMU since 1989. Westminster has earned back-to-back titles, winning its first-ever PAC championship during last spring's abbreviated campaign.

By virtue of its 34-10 victory over Westminster on Nov. 9, Carnegie Mellon was awarded the conference’s automatic qualifying bid to the NCAA Division III Championship. The PAC is one of 27 conferences granted automatic qualification (Pool A) to the Division III Championship. Selections for the 32-team Division III Championship will be announced at 5:30 p.m. Sunday. First round matchups are scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 20.

Carnegie Mellon will be making its seventh all-time trip to the Division III Championship, last advancing in 2006. The Tartans opened with a 21-0 first round win over Millsaps College before falling to Westley College 37-0 in the second round. Carnegie Mellon is 3-6 all-time in the Division III Championship.
