Vento hit .458 (11-for-24) to go along with a .440 on-base percentage during a 5-1 week for the Presidents, which included a 5-0 mark against PAC opposition that locked up the top seed and secured hosting rights for the 2014 PAC Baseball Championship Tournament. He hit safely in all six games and had at least one RBI in five of the six. Vento had nine RBIs on the week, including seven in last weekend’s three-game series with Geneva. The freshman also scored six times and was a perfect 4-for-4 in stolen base attempts.

Petrella made his three relief appearances count for the Bison last week, posting a pair saves and also notching a win to improve to 2-0 on the season. In his 2.1 innings of work, he allowed just one hit and no runs. His best outing came on April 27, as he notched the final two outs in Bethany’s 12-11, 10 inning come-from-behind win over Thiel. He ranks second in the league with six saves this year.
