Staniscia led the way in W&J’s weekend three-game sweep of Thomas More, finishing with at least three hits in each of the Presidents’ wins. Staniscia became the program’s career hits leader after upping his total to 224, passing Jim Pasquine ’10 for the Presidents’ all-time hits record with his first inning double in the third game of the series on Saturday.  In the three-game series the senior hit .636 (7-for-11) with a pair of doubles, five RBIs and three runs scored.

Zavatsky earned saves in each of Waynesburg’s wins over Bethany last week, helping the Jackets move into a tie for second in the league standings. He tossed 3.0 innings of scoreless, five-hit baseball over the two appearances. The sophomore, in his first year as a pitcher, has a 0.00 earned run average in seven total appearances this season and is four-for-four in save opportunities.
