TRAFFORD, Pa. (pacathletics.org) - Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Commissioner Joe Onderko has announced that Adam Green will be the official assignor for women's wrestling, the PAC's newest championship sport.

As the women's wrestling official assignor, Green will assign all officials at the five PAC institutions that sponsor the sport.

“As the Presidents’ Athletic Conference prepares for its first season with women's wrestling as a championship sport, we are excited to welcome Adam as our women's wrestling official assignor," said Onderko. "He's quickly developed a strong official network and brings great experience working many regional and national tournaments. As we embark on the women's wrestling era in the conference, we look forward to Adam's leadership in ensuring we have the highest-quality officials for PAC matches and championship."

Green has been a mat official for the United States Wrestling Official Association since 2018. He is currently an M1 official, the highest level category within the United States, and a UWW II level, which is the third highest international category for officials. Having officiated women's wrestling since 2023, Green's work on the mat includes being a part of the Tiffin Regional the last two years, working the NJCAA National Tournament in 2024, the NWWCA National Tournament in 2025 and the 2026 NAIA National Tournament.

As an assignor, Green has assigned for many women's teams in Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia, including current PAC programs Bethany College and Hiram College.

The PAC announced last February that women's wrestling would be sponsored as its 25th championship sport, beginning in the 2026-27 academic year. Three PAC schools have established women's wrestling programs, including Bethany, Hiram and Waynesburg University, while Chatham University and Washington & Jefferson College will begin programs this year. That will give the conference five teams to compete at the first PAC Women's Wrestling Championship, which will be held February 6th at W&J. The championship site will be rotated between PAC schools that offer the sport.

To have a Division III championship, there must be a minimum of 40 programs and for this upcoming year, there are 55 Division III women's wrestling programs. In 2026-27, after competing at PAC Championships, conference programs will wrestle at Regional Championship meets to try to qualify for the national collegiate women's wrestling championship meet, which includes all Division I, II and III women's wrestling programs. 

Then beginning in 2027-28, PAC women's programs will follow a similar path as the men's programs. They will wrestle at PAC Championships, then at regional meets to attempt to qualify for the NCAA Division III Championship.
