Game D No. 5 Saint Vincent 15, No. 6 Thiel 12 - 10 innings Thiel used a six-run fifth inning to take a 10-4 lead, but Saint Vincent battled all the way back to score the tying run in the ninth inning to force extra innings. In the 10th, Saint Vincent scored five times and held off the Tomcats for a 15-12 victory, which not only kept SVC alive in the Tournament but was also the 500th win in the career of Bearcat head coach Mick Janosko. Saint Vincent opened the game with two runs in the first inning and led 4-2 after three innings, aided by a solo homer from Dalton Nicklow in the third inning, the first longball of the PAC Tournament. Thiel bounced back with two runs in the fourth inning to tie the game and then erupted for six in the fifth inning. The Tomcats manufactured the first three runs, which came on a bases-loaded walk, sacrifice fly and fielder's choice, but they blew the open inning with a three-run double by Cole Sherwin to take a 10-4 lead. The Bearcat rally started with a single run in the sixth and then Saint Vincent scored four in the seventh with a two-run double by Chuck Fontana and a single by Lane Golkosky that chased two home. Trailing 10-9 going to the ninth, SVC was down to their final strike with the tying run on third when a ground ball by Derek Hald turned into an infield single and the Bearcats tied the score at 10-10 to force extra innings. In the 10th, Saint Vincent kept the momentum, getting a two-run single by Fontana to break the tie and Golkosky had another RBI single as SVC pushed five across in the frame Thiel managed to score twice in the bottom of the 10th, but couldn't get the tying run to the plate and dropped the 15-12 decision, which advanced Saint Vincent into Friday's play. Fontana was a big boost off the bench for the Bearcats, as he finished 3-for-4 with four RBIs and two runs scored, while Nicklow was 3-for-4 as well and scored five runs. While the offense had a big day, Alex Polito was a big story on the mound, as he entered in the fifth and after the Tomcats took their big lead, he held Thiel at bay to allow SVC to comeback and earned the win with 5.2 innings of solid work. For Thiel, Calvin Cackowski posted a three-hit game and scored three times, as did Nick Jacobs, who had two hits and drove in one. Game E No. 4 Westminster 5, No. 1 W&J 4 After falling behind W&J by two runs in the fifth inning, Westminster held the Presidents scoreless through the final four innings and battled back for a 5-4 victory, as the Titans staved off elimination and will play again Friday afternoon. The teams swapped runs in the first two innings before Westminster took the lead in the fourth inning on a sacrifice fly by Quinn Marquis. The Presidents rallied right back in the fifth with three runs, highlighted by an RBI single by Brian Feldman, for a 4-2 lead, which stood until the sixth. A pair of Titan runs tied the game, as Chase Tomko tripled home a run and he scored on Andrew Wolf's RBI single. In the seventh, Westminster moved in front when Marquis drew a bases-loaded walk to bring in the go-ahead run for a 5-4 advantage. That proved to be enough, as reliever Ryan Gibbons, who entered in the sixth inning, would pitch four scoreless innings to close out the win. He allowed just one hit and one walk while striking out three, including the final two batters in the ninth to finish the come-from-behind victory. Wolf was one of four Titans to post two hits in the game and also drove home two, while Tomko and Parker Lyons also had two hits each and scored once. For W&J, Drew Garth and Teddy Platt had two hits each, while Jacob LaDuca scored a pair of runs. Game E No. 2 Grove City 3, No. 3 Allegheny 1 Grove City starting pitcher David Leslie struck out 12 and allowed just one run on four hits as his complete game lifted the Wolverines to a 3-1 victory over Allegheny for their second win in the Tournament. The game was a pitcher's duel between Leslie and Allegheny's Walker Cunningham. The Wolverines would push runs across in the second on an RBI single by Luke Vittone and another in the fourth with a ground out by Adam Weber. After the Gators managed to score in the top of the seventh on Alejandro Samayoa's RBI single, the Wolverines got it right back on another RBI groundout, this one by Nick Sampson, to extend their lead back to two runs at 3-1. That was it for the offense, as Cunningham would throw a complete game for Allegheny. His final line included three runs allowed, two earned, on six hits with six strikeouts and two walks. Leslie's final line would turn out just a little better. He limited the Gators to one run on four hits while walking three and registering 12 Ks. Leslie closed the game out in style, as after Allegheny opened the final inning with a leadoff double, he struck out the final three batters to finish with his 12 punchouts. The only Wolverine batter to get multiple hits was Sam Bevin, who was 2-for-4, while Josh Minnich had a single and scored one and Weber also had one RBI and one run scored. Of Allegheny's two hits, Tommy Landsnes had two of them, including the double in the ninth. In addition to his RBI single, Samayoa also stole a base. 2025 PAC Baseball Championship Tournament All games at Ross Memorial Park - Washington, Pa.
