2025 All-PAC Men's Volleyball Teams, Yearly Awards Announced

TRAFFORD, Pa. (pacathletics.org) - The Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) released its first-ever All-PAC men's volleyball teams and conference award winners Tuesday evening. The postseason accolades were decided through voting by the league's seven head coaches.

The All-PAC teams and award winners were announced on a selection show broadcast by the PAC Sports Network. To view the archived broadcast, Click Here.

Highlighting the major award winners was Thiel College freshman outside hitter Ezra Oesterling earning both the PAC Player and Newcomer of the Year awards after he helped the Tomcats post a 22-6 record, a single-season school record for wins, and claim the PAC Championship in the first year men's volleyball was a conference sport. The PAC Defensive Player of the Year honor went to Geneva College senior defensive specialist Joshua Sangrey

Earning PAC Coach of the Year accolades was Thiel head coach Dylan Lasher

Oesterling claimed two of the PAC's top awards following a remarkable freshman campaign. He was the PAC leader in total kills with 407 and aces with 44, while ranking second in kills per set (3.91) and fourth in hitting percentage (.283). The 6'3" outside hitter did most of his damage in PAC matches. He served 31 of his 44 aces in conference tilts and posted 13 or more kills in nine PAC matches, highlighted by a 16-kill performance on .652 hitting in the PAC Championship Game sweep over Grove City College. Oesterling was named to the All-Tournament Team following the final match.

In addition to leading the PAC, Oesterling is one of the top hitters in the country. His 407 kills, the most by any freshman across all divisions, also ranks fifth overall in Division III and seventh in the nation.

Sangrey's stellar career at Geneva is capped off with the first-ever PAC Defensive Player of the Year award. He was a two-time All-Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) player prior to the PAC sponsoring volleyball this year, including a First Team selection last year after he led the AMCC in digs.

This season, Sangrey topped the PAC in digs with 299, as well as digs per set with 3.29, which ranked sixth in Division III. He became the first Geneva player ever to reach 1,000 career digs, getting his 1,000th in a game against Thiel on Feb. 18th and then two days later, set the program record with 28 digs in one match in a five-set win over Saint Vincent.
Sangrey completed his career with 1,189 digs, which is fifth all-time in Division III history.

While this is the first PAC Men's Coach of the Year award for Lasher, it's the second PAC award of his career. He was the 2017 Women's Coach of the Year while serving as the head coach at Chatham University. In earning this year's recognition, Lasher guided the Tomcats to 14 consecutive wins over PAC teams, including a 12-0 mark in the regular season before posting 3-0 wins over Saint Vincent College and Grove City to win the league title and the program's first NCAA Tournament berth.

The Tomcats, who will bring a 15-match winning streak into the postseason, open the NCAA Tournament Thursday night at 6:30 pm in a first-round match against St. Joseph's (Long Island). The match will be played at Southern Virginia University, who is hosting the Regional this weekend and will play the winner Friday in the second round.

The PAC also released its 2025 PAC Sportsmanship Team. The PAC Sportsmanship Teams were established to recognize student-athletes who have distinguished themselves through demonstrated acts of sportsmanship and ethical behavior and are an ongoing effort to recognize and encourage positive sportsmanship among all PAC teams.
