TRAFFORD, Pa. (pacathletics.org) - Waynesburg University junior running back Carson Shriver (Fairview, W. Va./Clay-Battelle), Allegheny College sophomore wide receiver Devin Larry (Loganville, Ga./Loganville Christian), Washington & Jefferson College junior defensive lineman Nathaniel Kadosh-Harris (Irwin, Pa./Norwin), and the Westminster College sophomore duo of wide receiver Brite Cannon (Parkland, Fla./Monarch) and cornerback Lamont Austin (Sharon, Pa./Sharon) were all awarded spots on the D3football.com Team of the Week.
Shriver carried the rock 24 times for the Yellow Jackets on Saturday afternoon, amassing 228 yards, which is the second most in a single game in the PAC this season. The highlight of the day for Shriver came in the third quarter when he broke loose for a 64-yard touchdown run.
The junior added one reception for 13 yards, giving him 241 all-purpose yards on the day. With the help of Shriver, Waynesburg defeated Bethany 48-28, extending the Yellow Jackets' winning streak against the Bison to four games.
Larry led the Gators' receiver room, accounting for all three Allegheny touchdowns in a 57-21 loss to Westminster. His 183 receiving yards and three receiving touchdowns were both career-highs.
Allegheny caught Westminster by surprise on the first drive of the game when fellow Gator wide receiver, Chris Gisewhite (Corpus Christi, Texas/Flour Bluff), connected with Larry for a 68-yard touchdown score to give Allegheny the lead, 7-0, after the PAT. Freshman quarterback Nick Barker (Cleveland, Ohio/Padua Franciscan), found Larry on another long ball late in the first quarter to give the Gators another lead. Seconds before halftime, Gisewhite pulled off another trick play and linked with Larry for his third touchdown catch of the day, this one from 12 yards out.
In W&J’s hardest-fought league contest to date, Kadosh-Harris exploded on defense for the Presidents. The junior led the unit with two sack fumbles, one fumble recovery, seven total tackles, including three solo stops.
Case Western Reserve possessed the ball to start the third quarter, but not for long. Just after the Spartans broke into Presidents’ territory, Kadosh-Harris forced a sack fumble, and W&J linebacker Brock Sherman (Copley, Ohio/Walsh Jesuit) was there to scoop it up. The Presidents scored on the ensuing drive, giving them a 28-10 lead.
Just moments after the two-minute timeout in the fourth quarter, Kadosh-Harris made his presence felt with another sack fumble. This time he recovered it on his own, and allowed the Presidents to close out the game. After Saturday night’s 28-17 over CWRU, W&J currently finds itself sitting atop the PAC standings, and just one win away from receiving the league’s automatic qualifier bid to the NCAA tournament.
Both Cannon and Austin contributed substantially in Westminster’s well-balanced 57-21 victory over Allegheny in Week 7 of PAC action.
Cannon tallied a career-high eight catches for 136 yards and a touchdown. Early in the second quarter, Westminster freshman QB Quentin Goode (Aliquippa, Pa./Aliquippa) delivered a 45-yard touchdown pass to Cannon, the longest Titan play from scrimmage in the game. After being named to the D3football.com Team of the Week twice already this year, both times as a returner, Cannon is awarded this week as a wide receiver.
On the other side of the ball, Austin picked off two passes, the first two-interception game of his career. He snagged his first interception off Barker on the Gators’ opening snap of the second quarter, then struck again with another pick just past the eight-minute mark in the third.
The 57 points scored by Westminster on Saturday are the most by a Titans squad since Oct. 16, 2021, when they piled up 66 against Waynesburg.
