Grove City's Herrmann earns Academic All-America® 12/11/2024 2:30:00 PM GROVE CITY, Pa. (pacathletics.org) - College Sports Communicators (CSC) has selected Grove City College senior women's soccer standout Emma Herrmann (Hilton, N.Y./Paul V. Moore) as a Division III Academic All-America®. Herrmann earned Third Team Academic All-America at midfielder Wednesday afternoon through nationwide voting by CSC's Division III membership. Herrmann earned United Soccer Coaches Division III All-America and All-Region honors following the 2024 season. She scored 21 goals and added seven assists in 20 starts this fall while helping the Wolverines to the Presidents' Athletic Conference title and a berth in the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament. Her 21 goals and 49 points both rank second on Grove City's single-season scoring list. She became the first player in program history with multiple seasons of 20 or more goals. Herrmann's 41 career goals rank fourth in program history, as do her 92 career points. Herrmann earned First Team All-PAC in 2024. She earned the conference's Offensive Player of the Year award as a junior in 2023. Herrmann also captured United Soccer Coaches All-America and All-Region recognition last year. Herrmann has earned a 3.71 cumulative grade-point average as a communication studies major at Grove City. She has been named to the Presidents' Athletic Conference's Academic Honor Roll and the Dean's List. Herrmann is the fifth Grove City women's soccer player to earn Academic All-America® status, joining Meg Tilley (2002-03), Alix Flowers (2007), Trishae Winters (2017) and Tirzah Lloyd (2021). Herrmann is also the first PAC Women's Soccer Academic All-America® receipient since Lloyd in 2021. Grove City has produced at least one Academic All-American® in each of the last 23 years. The 2024-25 academic year marks the 14th year that CSC (formerly CoSIDA, College Sports Information Directors of America) has based its Academic All-America® program on individual divisions within college athletics. Currently, CSC honors student-athletes in NCAA Divisions I, II and III, along with a "College" division that includes NAIA institutions and junior colleges. A student-athlete must be at least a sophomore with a 3.50 or higher cumulative grade-point average and be a starter or significant reserve to be nominated for the Academic All-America program.
