GREENSBORO, N.C. (pacathletics.org) – A total of eight Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) baseball programs were recognized when the 2023 American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Team Academic Excellence Awards, presented by Sports Attack, were announced July 26th.
Teams from every level of college and high school baseball were honored with this year's award, which highlights programs coached by ABCA members that posted a GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale for the entire 2022-23 academic year.
The eight teams from the PAC to be recognized included Bethany College; Chatham University; Franciscan University; Geneva College; Saint Vincent College; Thiel College; Washington & Jefferson College; and Westminster College.
This year's award marks eight consecutive seasons Thiel has been recognized by the ABCA, while Franciscan and Washington & Jefferson have earned the Academic Excellence Award three straight years and Saint Vincent and Westminster have been honored two years in a row.
Over 300 high school programs and more than 450 collegiate programs were recognized with this year's award, as the ABCA continued its long tradition of recognizing the achievements of baseball coaches and student-athletes.
