The weekly award winners have been recognized for their performances during Week 11 of the 2023 season.
 

PAC Hitter of the Week

Tyler Horvat • Washington & Jefferson • Senior outfielder • Irwin, Pa./Penn-Trafford Horvat compiled a slash line of .438/.526/.750 last week as the Presidents went 3-1 … The week included a doubleheader sweep of Allegheny Saturday to clinch the top seed in this week's PAC Tournament and three multi-hit games … Horvat had seven RBI, six runs scored and five stolen bases … He drove in three and stole two bases in the game-two win over Otterbein and hit a three-run home run and swiped two bags in a 9-5 game-one win over Allegheny … Horvat also established a new single-season school record for stolen bases during the week.

Allegheny senior Chase Chodkowski (Buffalo, N.Y./West Seneca West) was 2-for-4 in both ends of Saturday’s doubleheader at W&J, including a double in game one and a solo homer in game two … Chatham graduate student Caleb Lehman (Monroeville, Pa./Gateway) batted .364 (4-11) in three games last week, including three hits and three RBIs in the split at Grove City Saturday … Grove City sophomore Mally Kilbane (Olmsted Falls, Ohio/Olmsted Falls) went 3-for-5 with a home run, four runs scored, four runs batted in and four walks in Saturday's doubleheader against Chatham and is 17-for-25 (.680) over his last eight games … In the game-two win over Thiel, Saint Vincent junior Billy Perroz (Vandergrift, Pa./Kiski Area) went 4-for-5 with a double and three RBIs, which marked his 16th double of the season, good for the PAC lead and a new SVC single-season record … Waynesburg sophomore Alec Engelmore (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shaler) went 3-for-6 with a double and a run scored in a 9-4 win over 11th-ranked Denison … Westminster sophomore Braeden Campbell (Glenshaw, Pa./Shaler) hit .750 (6-8) in Friday's sweep at Bethany, as he went 4-for-5 with a triple, a home run, two RBIs and three runs scored in game one and 2-for-3 with three RBIs and two runs in the second game.

   

PAC Pitcher of the Week

Tate Ostrowski • Grove City • Senior • Essex, Mass./Covenant Christian   Ostrowski threw 6 2/3 shutout innings Saturday in game one of Grove City's doubleheader with Chatham ... Ostrowski struck out 11 men and allowed only two hits while improving to 9-1 ... It marked his third straight outing, and sixth overall this year, with 10-plus strikeouts ... Ostrowski broke his own Grove City single-season strikeout record in the win, as he now has 102 strikeouts in 2023.

Chatham sophomore David McSorely (Stafford, Va./St. John Paul the Great Catholic) earned the win in game two against Grove City, throwing six strong innings in relief and allowing one run on three hits with two Ks … Saint Vincent graduate student Michael Klingensmith (Murrysville, Pa./Franklin Regional) improved to 5-2 on the year and lowered his ERA to a PAC-leading 2.72 after starting and allowing just two hits in 5 2/3 shutout innings in the Bearcats' 12-0 win over Thiel, which clinched a berth in the PAC Tournament for his team … Thiel junior Alec Katon (Ashtabula, Ohio/Edgewood) struck out four and allowed five runs, only two earned, in 4 2/3 innings in game two against Saint Vincent and finished the season with 55 Ks and 3.70 ERA in 58 1/3 innings of work … Westminster junior Kolton Banfi (Harrisville, Pa./Franklin) moved to 5-2 this season with Friday's 13-2 game-two win at Bethany after he allowed two runs on seven hits with three walks and 10 strikeouts in 8.0 innings of work.

 

PAC Rookie of the Week

Ethan Erhard • Waynesburg • Freshman pitcher • Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield   Erhard ended his first season on a high note by logging a complete-game victory over Denison, the 11th-ranked team in the country, on Saturday … Erhard's nine-inning effort included three earned runs on six hits, five walks and four strikeouts, as the Yellow Jackets knocked off Denison, who were also ranked third in last week’s NCAA Regional Rankings, 9-4 on the Big Red's home field to cap Waynesburg’s 2023 campaign … He held Denison scoreless through five innings and also posted zeroes in the seventh and eighth frames … The win allowed Erhard to finish 4-3 on the mound this spring.

Chatham freshman Peter Tadic (Pittsburgh, Pa./Central Catholic) launched a three-run homer in the Hiram game and had an RBI single in the win over Grove City Saturday … Grove City freshman Nick Sampson (Venetia, Pa./Peters Township) went 2-for-7 with a triple and two runs scored in Grove City's Saturday doubleheader with Chatham and concluded the regular season with a .356 batting average … Thiel freshman Colton Brightwell (Eighty Four, Pa./Bentworth) went 4-for-4 with two doubles in game-one loss to Saint Vincent and finished the year batting .313 with .384 on-base percentage.
