W&J Earns Top Seed, Will Host PAC Baseball Tournament 5/7/2023 9:10:00 AM TRAFFORD, Pa. (pacathletics.org) - After posting a 17-3 record in league play during the regular season, Washington & Jefferson College has earned the top seed and hosting rights for this week's Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) Baseball Tournament. The league’s four-team, double-elimination championship tournament will be held Thursday-Saturday, May 11-13 at Ross Memorial Park in Washington, Pa. The PAC Sports Network (PACSN) will deliver live broadcasts of all of this year’s tournament games at pacstream.net. The Tournament will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 11, with top-seed W&J (28-12, 17-3 PAC) taking on fourth-seed Westminster College (20-18, 13-7 PAC) in Game A. At 4 p.m. in Game B, second-seeded Grove City College (29-9, 16-4 PAC) will face No. 3 Saint Vincent College (20-16, 13-7 PAC). The tournament will continue through Saturday's championship game(s). This is W&J’s sixth-straight year serving as the league’s championship tournament host. The Presidents, led by 21st-year head coach Jeff Mountain, are making their 14th-straight tournament appearance. W&J won its 14th PAC title in 2022 with a 10-2 victory in the title game over Westminster. The PAC Championship Tournament winner will earn the conference’s automatic qualifying bid to the NCAA Division III Championship. Selections for the Division III Championship are scheduled to be announced Monday, May 15 with regional preliminary round play slated for Friday-Monday, May 19-21. Regional champions will compete in the May 26th-28th Super Regionals, a best-of-three series, to determine the eight participants in this year’s Division III College World Series, scheduled for Friday-Wednesday, June 2-8.
