TRAFFORD, Pa. - Led by four All-PAC players, Westminster College led from the opening round in the fall all the way through the spring to capture its fifth consecutive Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Women's Golf championship.

The two rounds in the spring were played at Mill Creek Golf Course in Boardman, Ohio, on the Donald Ross-designed North Course, a 5650-yard, par-72 layout.

In addition to being the Titans' fifth straight conference crown, it's also their seventh in program history. As this year's PAC team champion, Westminster secured the league's automatic qualifying bid to the NCAA Division III Championship. Team selections will be announced Monday, May 1. The Division III Championship is scheduled for May 9-12 at the Mission Inn Resort and Club in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida.

Westminster concluded its 72-hole championship run with a team score of 1332. The Titans followed up Friday's 328 with a 330 on Saturday to post a two-round spring total of 658. Last fall, Westminster registered a 36-hole team score of 674 (341-333), with both rounds being played at the Avalon Golf and Country Club's Squaw Creek Golf Course in Vienna, Ohio.

Washington & Jefferson College was the runner-up with a team score of 1404, while Allegheny College took third at 1446. In fourth place was Thiel College (1480), followed by Geneva College in fifth (1578), Grove City College in sixth (1659) and Franciscan University in seventh (1825). Waynesburg University competed as individuals this spring after playing two full rounds in the fall.

Westminster's championship effort was led by the top three individual scorers this spring. Senior Kasey Clifford (Ocean City, N.J./ Ocean City) claimed her third PAC Player of the Year award after carding a 155 this weekend. She followed up her 76 on Friday with a 79 Saturday and finished the four championship rounds with an individual score of 318. Clifford fired a 163 (87-76) last fall.

Also earning First Team All-PAC for the Titans was junior Sierra Richard (Beaver Falls, Pa./Blackhawk), who was the runner-up with a 72-hole score of 335, and freshman Alyssa Rapp (Poland, Ohio/Cardinal Mooney), who tied for fourth place at 346. Junior Morgan Byers (Venetia, Pa./Peters Township) took eight place in the Championships with a four-round score of 353 to garner Second Team recognition.

The PAC Newcomer of the Year award went to W&J freshman Megan Joyce (Uniontown, Pa./Laurel Highlands). Joyce finished in third place overall with a 342 (87-87-85-83) to earn All-PAC First Team honors and collect the top first-year award. Joyce is the second straight President to earn PAC Newcomer of the Year, as sophomore Christina McGinnis (Clearfield, Pa./Clearfield) took home the honor last spring. McGinnis was a First Team All-PAC performer this spring after scoring 346 for the tournament.

The final major award went to Westminster tenth-year head coach Matt Torrence, who was voted the PAC's Coach of the Year for the fifth straight year.

The All-PAC teams, along with the PAC Player of the Year and PAC Newcomer of the Year, are determined by the combined 72-hole scores from the fall and spring championships. A player must compete in all four rounds in the fall and spring to be eligible for All-PAC honors.
