PAC Wrestler of the Week

Colby Morris • Waynesburg • Junior • Waynesburg, Pa. | Waynesburg Central Morris led the charge for Waynesburg at Saturday's John Summa Invitational with a runner-up finish at 174 pounds … He opened his run with a 7-2 decision over Brandon Burkhart of Baldwin Wallace and followed that up with a pin in 1:28 over Brady Walsh of Ohio Wesleyan … His semifinal win, a 4-2 overtime decision over Baldwin Wallace's Luke Hopkins, moved Morris to 21-0 on the year and set up a championship bout with West Liberty’s Chase Morgan, a two-time NCAA Division II national qualifier … Morris dropped the bout by 3-2 decision.

Other notable performers

Thiel senior Peyton Hearn (Conneaut, Pa. | Conneaut Area) finished third at 149 at the 36th John Summa Invitational on Saturday after he went 6-1 at the invitational … Hearn won his first two bouts in the championship bracket, pinning Ohio Northern’s Matt Dewitz in 5:00 before winning by decision (3-2) over St. John Fisher’s Luke Lupisella … After losing to the eventual bracket-winner in the quarterfinals (13-4), he went 4-0 in the consolation bracket to finish third … He pinned Ohio Wesleyan’s Luke Milanovich in 2:31 before winning by major decision over West Liberty’s Jalen King (10-2) in the match for third place.

 

PAC Rookie of the Week

Ryan Bachar • Waynesburg • Freshman • Export, Pa. | Penn-Trafford Bachar went 1-2 for the Yellow Jackets in the 157-pound bracket at the Baldwin-Wallace John Summa Invitational Saturday.
