The weekly award winners have been recognized for their performances during Week 5 of the 2023-24 season.
 

PAC Player of the Week

Jaden Gales • Saint Vincent • Sophomore forward • Pittsburgh, Pa./Bishop Canevin Over Saint Vincent's 3-0 week, Gales averaged 22.0 points and 8.7 rebounds, while shooting 53 percent from the field (25-47) and 78 percent from the foul line (14-18) ... In Monday's 88-75 non-conference win over Penn State-Fayette, Gales scored a team-high 26 points in just 22 minutes and added a team-best eight rebounds, along with two assists, two steals and a block ... After he scored 15 points and grabbed eight rebounds in Wednesday's 88-60 win over Grove City, Gales recorded a 25-point, 10-rebound double-double, leading both teams in each category, in Saturday's 72-70 comeback win over Geneva ... In helping the Bearcats' to the win that vaulted them into sole possession of first place in the PAC, Gales went 9-for-18 from the field and 7-for-7 from the line.

PAC Newcomer of the Week

Jayson Perry • Allegheny • Freshman guard • Tampa, Fla./Sickles Perry scored a career-high 10 points on 4-of-5 shooting (80%), including a 2-for-3 performance from 3-point range (66.7%), with one assist, one block, and one steal in a 61-54 comeback win over Waynesburg Saturday … He was responsible for 10 of Allegheny's first 17 points, giving the Gators an early 17-14 lead … Perry then had a key block in the second half, as the Gators held the Yellow Jackets scoreless for more than five minutes en route to the comeback win ... In the 1-1 week for the Gators, Perry averaged 6.5 points while shooting 71 percent (5-7) overall and 60 (3-5) from three-point range.

PAC Record & Milestones

Franciscan's win over W&J Wednesday was the Barons' first over the Presidents in their seven meetings since Franciscan joined the PAC ... Saint Vincent's 9-0 start is its best since the 2008-09 squad opened the season with an identical record and the Bearcats' 6-0 conference mark is its best start to conference play since opening the 2018-19 season with 10 straight league wins ... In Monday's win over Penn State-Fayette, Saint Vincent guard Dev Ostrowski notched nine steals, the second-most in a game in program history, and the most since BJ McGill recorded nine thefts in a Nov. 2009 contest vs. Penn State-Altoona.
