PAC Wrestler of the Week

Jake Alberts • Thiel • Senior • Ellwood City, Pa. | Lincoln Alberts helped Thiel defeat Waynesburg 38-8 on Friday when he pinned Christian Michaels in 5:46 at 141 … Thiel improved to 9-2 overall and 2-0 in the PAC with the win over Waynesburg.

Other notable performers

Waynesburg sophomore Ayden Bishoff (Kingwood, W.Va. | Preston) earned a 14-6 major decision at 184 pounds during Waynesburg’s dual with Thiel on Friday.

 

PAC Rookie of the Week

Bryce Rodriguez-Uram • Washington & Jefferson • Freshman • Carnegie, Pa. | Carlynton Rodriguez-Uram led W&J with a 3-1 record and a runner-up finish at 141 pounds Saturday at the Ken Ober Memorial Tournament hosted by Elizabethtown College … After receiving an opening-round bye, Rodriguez-Uram won by medical forfeit to advance to the quarterfinals … The freshman then recorded a win by a 15-12 decision over Hunter Ballantine of Shenandoah and won by fall in the semifinals over Zach Rupp of E-Town.

Thiel freshman EJ McCarthy (Hubbard, Ohio | Hubbard) helped Thiel defeat Waynesburg on Friday when he scored a 14-9 decision over Clay Lamb at 125, as the Tomcats improved to 2-0 in the conference and 9-2 overall.
