GREENVILLE, Pa. (pacathletics.org)--The Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) announced its All-PAC Baseball teams and annual award winners Tuesday afternoon. The All-PAC teams, along with the PAC's yearly award winners, were determined, by vote, of the league's 10 head coaches.

Washington & Jefferson College senior catcher Peter Kalinski (Washington, D.C. | Saint John's College) was selected as this year’s PAC Player of the Year. Grove City College senior right-hander Tate Ostrowski (Essex, Mass. | Covenant Christian) was honored as the PAC Pitcher of the Year. Grove City freshman utility player Mally Kilbane (Olmsted Falls, Ohio | Olmsted Falls) claimed PAC Newcomer of the Year honors while W&J 20th-year head coach Jeff Mountain was voted the PAC Coach of the Year.

Kalinski, a two-time First Team All-PAC selection, is W&J's ninth player of the year in program history and seventh since the 2005 season.

In 42 games (39 starts) this season Kalinski is hitting .372 with six doubles, four home runs, 38 RBIs and 39 runs scored. His runs scored are tied for the fourth-most in the league, while his batting average, on-base percentage (.475) and RBIs all rank fifth in the PAC. Kalinski has been terrific in run-producing situations, hitting .419 with runners in scoring position and totaling 15 two-out RBIs. He also ranks eighth in NCAA Division III with five sacrifice flies.

In 26 PAC regular season games (23 starts) Kalinski hit .409 with four doubles, three home runs, 28 RBIs and 26 runs scored. He drove in six runs during this year's PAC Championship Tournament.

Ostrowski is Grove City's second pitcher of the year in program history. Cory Metcalf won the award in 2011. He is a two-time First Team All-PAC selection.

Ostrowski finished the season 8-1 (13 starts) with three complete games and a pair of shared shutouts. He also had one save. In 88.1 innings, Ostrowski produced a league-low 1.63 earned-run average. He also led the PAC in opposing batting average (.181), innings pitched and strikeouts (93). His eight victories ranked second in the league.

Ostrowski's 1.63 ERA ranks 13th in Division III.

In seven PAC regular season starts, Ostrowski went 6-1 with a 1.29 ERA. His 57 strikeouts in regular season league games were the most this season.

Ostrowski's 1.67 career ERA is the best among Division III active leaders. He currently ranks fifth among Division III active leaders in fewest hits per nine innings (6.05) while his 17 career victories are tied for 36th among active leaders in Division III.

Killbane made 38 starts for Grove City this season, hitting a team-high .362 with 12 doubles, one triple, three home runs, 30 RBIs and 37 runs scored. His on-base percentage (.468), runs scored and hits (51) all rank sixth in the PAC. His batting average ranks seventh in the league. Kilbane hit .395 with runners on base. Kilbane drove in three runs during last weekend's PAC Championship Tournament.

In 23 PAC regular season starts Kilbane hit .440 with eight doubles, two home runs, 16 RBIs and 29 runs scored. He led the league with a .561 on-base percentage in conference play.

The coach of the year citation is Mountain's 10th. He led W&J to the top seed in this year's PAC Championship Tournament and the program's third-straight league title. It was the 14th conference championship in program history and 10th claimed by W&J under Mountain. This was the 11th-straight season W&J advanced to the tournament's title round.

Also announced Tuesday were the members of this year's PAC Sportsmanship Team. The PAC’s Sportsmanship Teams were established to recognize student-athletes who have distinguished themselves through demonstrated acts of sportsmanship and ethical behavior and are an ongoing effort to both recognize and encourage positive sportsmanship among all conference teams.

As the PAC Championship Tournament winner, W&J (35-8) earned the conference’s automatic qualifying bid to the NCAA Division III Championship. W&J is making its ninth appearance in the Division III tournament and will open regional play Friday against host Lebanon Valley (30-14) in Annville. Rowan (30-8) enters the Annville regional as the top seed. W&J is second, Lebanon Valley is third and Mitchell (30-11) is fourth.

Regional champions will compete in the Super Regionals, a best-of-three series, to determine the eight participants in this year’s Division III College World Series, scheduled for Friday-Wednesday, June 3-8. The Division III College World Series will be held at Perfect Game Field at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
