PAC Player of the Week

Lyle Tipton • Geneva • Senior guard/forward • Glenside, Pa. | Phil-Mont Christian Academy Tipton averaged 32.0 points, 11.0 rebounds and 3.5 steals last week in leading Geneva to two PAC victories …He scored 35 points and grabbed seven rebounds against Allegheny on Wednesday, and then scored 29 points while grabbing a season-high 15 rebounds against Franciscan on Saturday … He shot 22-of-47 (47%) from the floor, 6-of-14 (43%) from three-point range and 14-of-19 (74%) from the foul line … His 28.7 scoring average is third in NCAA Division III.

Allegheny freshman Ryan Lang (Sarver, Pa. | Knoch) led Allegheny with 22.5 points, 7.5 rebounds & 2.0 steals in a 1-1 week … He set a new career-high with 29 points in a win over Thiel … Bethany sophomore Chance Wells (Wooster, Ohio | Triway) had his first career triple-double vs. Thiel with 13 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists … Chatham senior Marcus Cintron (Grove City, Pa. | Grove City) knocked down five three-pointers and tallied 30 points in the one-point win over Bethany … Franciscan graduate student Travis Lien (Kirkwood, Mo. | Kirkwood) fired in 30 points against Grove City and averaged 25.5 ppg and six rebounds in two games … Grove City sophomore Jonah Bock (Erie, Pa. | McDowell) averaged 15.5 points per game, along with 4.0 rebounds, in a 1-1 week for Grove City … Saint Vincent graduate student Shemar Bennett (Lauderhill, Fla. | Nova) averaged 19.0 points, 16.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.5 steals during Saint Vincent's 1-1 week … After recording totals of 19 points, 15 rebounds, four assists and three steals in win at Waynesburg, he scored 19 while grabbing a career-high 17 rebounds in OT loss at W&J … Thiel graduate student Ahmad Tejumola (Waldorf, Md. | Saint Charles) became the 11th Tomcat to reach the 1,000-point plateau when he had a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds in a loss to Allegheny and averaged 16 points and 10 rebounds in a 1-1 week … W&J freshman Matt Seidl (Pittsburgh, Pa. | North Hills) averaged 16.0 points per game and pulled down 5.5 rebounds per game last week as W&J earned PAC wins over Chatham and Saint Vincent to improve to 5-0 in league play … Graduate student Matt Popeck (Washington, Pa. | Washington) led Waynesburg in both scoring (18.5 ppg) and rebounding (9.0 rpg) over a pair of games this past week and logged a 12-point, 10-rebound double-double in Waynesburg's 62-57 win over Penn State Behrend … Westminster sophomore Peyton Mele (Hermitage, Pa. | Hickory) was 8-of-14 shooting from the floor, including 6-of-10 from the arc, and fired in a career-high 25 points in the victory over Grove City.

 

PAC Rookie of the Week

Brandon Jakiela • Washington & Jefferson • Freshman guard • McDonald, Pa. | South Fayette Jakiela averaged 19.0 points and 4.0 rebounds per game last week, as W&J remained unbeaten in PAC play with wins over Chatham and Saint Vincent … Jakiela was the Presidents' leading scorer with 19 points in each victory and added six boards and two steals in triumph over Chatham … Jakiela made 7-of-10 shots from the field in the Saint Vincent win and converted 60 percent (15-of-25) of his field goal attempts for the week.

Bethany freshman Cole Dailey (East Liverpool, Ohio | East Liverpool) averaged 23.0 points, 9.5 rebounds and 3.0 blocks in Bethany's 0-2 week … He posted 27 points, 12 rebounds and three blocks in the loss to Thiel and against Chatham, had 19 points, seven rebounds and three blocks … Chatham freshman James Thomas (Sharpsville, Pa. | Sharpsville) averaged seven points and seven rebounds in a 1-1 week for the Cougars … Geneva freshman Jonathan Bertovich (East Palestine, Ohio | Heartland Christian) averaged 15.0 points and 4.5 rebounds in Geneva's two wins last week, with his 16 points against Franciscan marking a career-high … Grove City freshman Daniel Penosky (Fort Mill, S.C. | Legion Academy) had a season-high 16 points Wednesday night to help lead Grove City to an 83-78 win over Franciscan … Saint Vincent freshman Jalen Gales (Pittsburgh, Pa. | Bishop Canevin) averaged 14.0 points and 7.5 rebounds in Saint Vincent's 1-1 week, paced by 17 points and seven rebounds at W&J Saturday … Thiel freshman Elijah Harden (Sharon, Pa. | Kennedy Catholic) scored 11 points in a win over Bethany Wednesday and scored a career-high 16 points in a loss at Allegheny … Westminster freshman Trey DePietro (Boardman, Ohio | Boardman) posted a 13-point, 10-rebound double-double in Saturday's 81-67 triumph over PAC rival Grove City for his first collegiate double-double ... He also had three blocked shots and is tied for second in the league with 17 blocks.
