(pacathletics.org)--The Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) announced the field for this year's Men's Soccer Championship Tournament after the completion of its regular season league schedule Wednesday night. The six-team championship tournament, which gets underway Saturday, will determine this year's PAC champion. This year's tournament winner will also receive the conference's automatic qualifying bid to the NCAA Division III Championship, which begins the following week. The PAC is one of 43 conferences granted automatic qualification (Pool A) to the Division III Championship. Admission to all PAC Championship Tournament matches is $5 for adults and $2 for students, with students at PAC host institutions admitted for free with valid identification. Grove City College (12-5), winners of seven-straight matches, secured the No. 1 seed in the championship tournament after going a perfect 10-0 in league play this fall. Grove City also earned the tournament's top seed in 2018 and 2021. Franciscan University (12-3-3, 7-2-1) enters the tournament as the No. 2 seed for a second-straight year. Grove City and Franciscan will receive quarterfinal round byes. Grove City owns a pair of PAC titles and is making its 15th-straight trip to the league’s championship tournament. Franciscan is making its second-straight appearance in the championship tournament after advancing to the title match a year ago. In Saturday's quarterfinal round, No. 3 Geneva College (9-3-6, 6-1-3) will host No. 6 Westminster College (9-5-3, 4-3-3) at 1:30 p.m. at Reeves Field in Beaver Falls. Allegheny College (5-7-4, 4-2-4), the No. 4 seed, will host Bethany College (8-6-4, 4-3-3), the No. 5 seed and defending PAC champion, at 2 p.m. at the Robertson Athletic Complex grass field in Meadville. Geneva won the PAC title in 2016 and has made four-straight tournament appearances, advancing to the title match in 2019. Allegheny announced its return to the PAC on August 23, 2021 after a 38-year run as a founding member of the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC). Allegheny was a PAC member from 1958 through the spring of 1984 and reentered the PAC as its 11th full-time member on July 1, 2022. Allegheny won five PAC titles between 1959-78. Bethany owns a league-best 31 PAC titles, winning its first last season since 2001. Westminster won the PAC title in 2018 and has claimed five PAC championships since 2002. Grove City and Franciscan will host semifinal matches on Wednesday, November 2. Grove City will host the No. 4 Allegheny/No. 5 Bethany winner at Don Lyle Field in Grove City, while Franciscan will host the No. 3 Geneva/No. 6 Westminster winner at Trinity Health System Field in Steubenville. Semifinal start times will be announced after Saturday's quarterfinal matches. The title match, slated for Saturday, Nov. 5, will be hosted by the highest-remaining seed following next Wednesday's semifinal results. Information on the title match will be announced after the completion of the semifinal round. Selections for the 64-team Division III Championship will be announced Monday, Nov. 7 at 1 p.m. First and second round matchups are scheduled for Friday-Sunday, Nov. 11-13.
