Men's Soccer
Standings

The top six (6) teams qualify for the PAC Championship Tournament, solely determined by the conference schedule. Seeding is determined by the following:
1.) Maximum points (win=3 points; draw=1 point);
2.) Head-to-head;
3) Goal differential in conference matches (4-goal limit per match);
4.) Goals for in conference matches (4-goal limit per match);
5) Goals against in conference matches (4-goal limit per match);
6.) Points earned vs. descending conference opponents (starting with the team with the most points);
7.) Coin toss.
When three or more teams are tied, the above tie break scenarios are applied until either a single team or multiple teams are eliminated or advanced. Once a team(s) are eliminated or advanced, the tie break scenario reverts back to the first criteria of the tie break scenarios and continues until the field is set.”

Games remaining: Franciscan at Waynesburg (10/24); Saint Vincent at Chatham (10/25), Thiel at Allegheny, Grove City at W&J, Westminster at Bethany, Geneva at Waynesburg

*Grove City (9-0, 27 points) has clinched the top seed with a first round bye and hosting rights throughout the PAC Tournament regardless of the outcome of their contest vs. W&J Wednesday.

*Franciscan (6-2-1, 19 points) can clinch the #2 seed and a first round bye and semifinal hosting rights with a win over Waynesburg on Monday.

*Geneva (5-1-3, 18 points) can earn the #2 seed with a win over Waynesburg on Wednesday coupled with a Franciscan loss or tie vs. Waynesburg Monday. The GTs can also end tied with at 19 poitns with a tie vs. WAY coupled with an FRA loss to WAY. If this happens, Geneva is the #2 seed via 2-1 HTH win over Franciscan. Geneva has clinched no less than the #3 seed and QF hosting rights on Saturday.

The final three playoff spots and seeds #4-#6 will feature some combination of Bethany (4-3-2, 14 points), Westminster (4-3-2, 14 points), Allegheny (3-4-2, 13 points, and W&J (3-4-2, 11 points). W&J must defeat Grove City Wednesday or they are eliminated from tournament eligibility. Here are the HTH results between the teams for tiebreaker purposes:

ALL-BET: 2-2 tie
ALL defeated WES 4-2
ALL lost to W&J 3-1
BET-WES: Wednesday
BET defeated W&J 2-0
WES defeated W&J 2-1

Note: Bethany vacated its team points toward PAC Championship Tournament seeding earned in a win over Geneva (Sept. 27) and a draw with Franciscan (Sept. 30) after discovering that an ineligible student-athlete participated in both contests. As a result, Geneva and Franciscan have each been awarded three team points towards tournament seeding for those respective contests.

*Waynesburg (1-4-3, 6 points), Saint Vincent (1-5-3, 6 points), Chatham (1-6-2, 5 points) and Thiel (1-8, 3 points) have all been eliminated from tournament eligibility regardless of the outcome of regular season games this week.

Games remaining: Saint Vincent at Chatham (10/25), Thiel at Allegheny, Grove City at W&J, Westminster at Bethany, Geneva at Waynesburg

*Westminster (8-1, 24 points) has clinched the top seed and hosting rights throughout the PAC Tournament regardless of the outcome of their contest at Bethany Wednesday.

*Franciscan (7-1-2, 23 points) has completed the regular season and has clinched the #2 seed. Both WES and FRA have first round PAC tournament byes and will host semifinal games on Wed., Nov. 2.

*Grove City (6-2-1, 19 points) can clinch the #3 seed with a win over W&J Wednesday. Regardless of the outcome, GCC will host a PAC quarterfinal tournament game this Saturday.

*Chatham (5-1-3, 18 points) can clinch the #3 seed with a win over Saint Vincent Tuesday coupled with a GCC loss to W&J Wednesday. CHA ends up tied with GCC if they tie SVC and GCC loses to W&J – in this scenario, the teams played to a HTH 1-1 draw so we would move to goal differential in conference matches (4-goal limit per match). Currently, Grove City is at +11 while Chatham is at +8, so GCC would win this tiebreaker unless they lost to W&J by 4 or more goals Wednesday. Regardless of the outcome, Chatham be no worse than the #4 seed and will host a PAC quarterfinal tournament game this Saturday.

*Bethany (4-4-1, 13 points) has clinched a playoff berth and can clinch the #5 seed with a win over Westminster Wednesday.

*W&J (3-3-3, 12 points) can clinch the #5 seed with a win over Grove City Wednesday, coupled with a Bethany tie or loss to Westminster. A W&J win or tie vs. Grove City would clinch the final tournament berth outright.

*Saint Vincent (2-4-3, 9 points) can only clinch a tie for 6th place with a win over Chatham coupled with a W&J loss to Grove City. In this scenario, SVC and W&J played to a HTH 1-1 draw, so we would move to goal differential in conference matches (4-goal limit per match). Currently, W&J is +2 and SVC is -4 so W&J would win this tiebreaker unless the combination of a SVC win and W&J loss is a combined seven goal differential or more (e.g. SVC wins by three goals, W&J loses by four goals, resulting in SVC -1 and W&J -2 overall in conference play). If it is a six-goal differential and the teams end up tied in tiebreaker #3, Saint Vincent currently has more goals scored so they would win the #4 tiebreaker scenario.

*Allegheny (2-5-2, 8 points), Geneva (2-6-1, 7 points), Waynesburg (1-4-4, 7 points) and Thiel (0-9, 0 points) have all been eliminated from tournament eligibility.
