W&J men recognized with Outstanding Team Academic Award by GCAA 7/29/2021 2:21:09 PM NORMAN, Okla. (pacathletics.org)--Under the director of head coach Matt Kluck, the Washington & Jefferson College men's golf team recently earned recognition from the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) when the organization released its 2020-21 Outstanding Team Academic Award Recipients. W&J earned Presidents Special Recognition (3.5+ GPA) as the team performed well on the course and in the classroom during the 2020-21 academic year. The program was just one of 13 in NCAA Division III to earn the distinction on the Presidents Special Recognition list. A total of 32 Division III programs were honored, as 19 additional programs received mention as All-Academic Teams (3.0+ GPA). Recent graduates Garrett Barilar (Bloomsburg, Pa. | Central Columbia) and Ben Peticca (Murrysville, Pa. | Franklin Regional) were recently selected to the Academic All-District At-Large Teams by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) for their academic successes.
