PAC announces all-conference women’s soccer teams, annual award winners 5/13/2021 11:30:00 AM GREENVILLE, Pa. (pacathletics.org)--The Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) released its All-PAC women's soccer teams and yearly award winners Thursday. The all-conference teams, along with this year’s annual award winners and sportsmanship team selections, were decided by a vote of the league’s head coaches. Chatham University junior midfielder Morgan Anderson (Pittsburgh, Pa. | North Allegheny) was named the PAC Player of the Year, while Grove City College freshman forward Gianna D'Amato (Maywood, N.J. | Hawthorne Christian) claimed the PAC Newcomer of the Year award. Chatham ninth-year head coach Betsy Warren was selected as the PAC Coach of the Year. Anderson is the first player from Chatham to be voted the PAC Player of the Year. Anderson helped lead Chatham to a 7-1-1 record this spring and the No. 2 seed in the PAC Championship Tournament. She started all 11 matches for the Cougars this season and ranked third in the league with 19 points. Her eight goals were tied for the most in the league. Anderson opened the season with a career-high seven points (3G, 1A) in a 4-0 victory at Saint Vincent College on March 13. In 48 career appearances (38 starts) Anderson has totaled 50 points on 19 goals and 12 assists. She was an All-PAC Second Team honoree and named to the league's all-tournament team in 2019. D'Amato made starts in all 12 games for Grove City this spring. She tied for the league lead with 21 points. D'Amato's seven assists were the most in the conference while her seven goals were tied for the third-most scored. She was named to this year's all-tournament team. Warren led No. 2 Chatham to its first-ever PAC title on May 5 with a 3-1 victory over top-seeded Grove City at Don Lyle Field in Grove City. Chatham has made two-straight appearances in the league's championship match. The Cougars have appeared in the championship tournament five years in a row. The coach of the year award in Warren's second (2016).
