Westminster women earn third-straight title 4/19/2021 7:46:20 PM VIENNA, Ohio (pacathletics.org)--Westminster College secured its third-straight Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) Women’s Golf Championship team title Monday afternoon. Westminster totaled a team score of 347 in Monday’s second and final round. The Titans finished the two championship rounds with a team score of 671 (324-347). The team title is Westminster’s sixth. Monday’s second round was played at Avalon at Squaw Creek in Vienna, Ohio. Saturday’s round was played at Cedarbrook Golf Course in Belle Vernon, Pa. Geneva College was second with a 769 (371-398) and was followed by Thiel College in third (771, 372-399), Grove City College in fourth (821, 400-421), Saint Vincent College in fifth (836, 401-435), Franciscan University in sixth (876, 430-446) and Waynesburg University in seventh (1249, 612-637). PAC Player of the Year honors went to Westminster sophomore Kasey Clifford (Longport, N.J. | Ocean City) for the second-straight season after posting a two-round score of 159. She fired a career-low, three-over 74 Saturday before finishing with an 85 Monday. Westminster first-year Sierra Richard (Beaver Falls, Pa. | Blackhawk) earned PAC Newcomer of the Year honors with her runner-up finish, finishing with a two-round score of 163. Richard shot a career-low 80 Saturday and followed that up with an 83 Monday. Westminster head coach Matt Torrence claimed his third-straight PAC Coach of the Year citation. This year's PAC Championship featured a 36-hole stroke play event. The combined 36-hole team totals determine PAC team champions and winners of the league's automatic qualifying bids to the 2021 NCAA Division III Championships. The top five individual finishers were named All-PAC First Team. The players finishing sixth through 10th were named All-PAC Second Team. The players finishing 11th through 15th were named All-PAC Honorable Mention. The field for this year’s Division III Women's Golf Championships is scheduled to be announced Wednesday, May 5. The Division III Championships are scheduled for Tuesday-Friday, May 11-14 and will be contested at the Forest Akers Golf Courses in Lansing, Mich.
