Chatham secures second-straight PAC women's soccer title

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. (pacathletics.org)--Third-seeded Chatham University scored in the 103rd minute to defeat top-seeded Westminster College 4-3 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Women's Soccer Championship Tournament title match Saturday night at the UPMC Sports Complex. 

The PAC championship is Chatham's (12-5-1) second straight. Last year was the program's first-ever league title. 

Westminster (16-2-1) was making its first appearance in the league's title match for the first time since 2018. Westminster owns five PAC titles since becoming eligible for the conference championship in 2002, winning three-straight PAC championships from 2002-04 before winning back-to-back titles in 2006 and 2007.

Chatham junior Emily Harvey (Lilly, Pa. | Penn Cambria) was named the championship tournament's Most Outstanding Player Saturday night. 

As this year's championship tournament winner, Chatham will receive the conference's automatic qualifying bid to the NCAA Division III Championship. The PAC is one of 44 conferences granted automatic qualification (Pool A) to the Division III Championship. Selections for the 64-team Division III Championship will be announced Monday, Nov. 8 at 1 p.m. First and second round matchups are scheduled for Friday-Sunday, Nov. 12-14.
