Westminster men in front after fall rounds of PAC Championship 10/14/2021 7:52:59 PM WARREN, Ohio (pacathletics.org)--Westminster College shot a 292 Thursday after posting a 293 Wednesday and will take a 21-stroke advantage lead into April’s third and final round of the Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) Men’s Golf Championship. The 36-hole fall event was hosted by the Avalon Golf & Country Club in Warren, Ohio. The men played two rounds at Avalon Lakes in Warren. This year’s PAC Championship features a 54-hole stroke play event, with 36 holes contested this fall and another 18 holes played in April. Westminster leads the seven-team championship field with a team score of 585 (293-292). The Titans won the program’s fourth PAC title last spring. Washington & Jefferson College sits in second place after registering a two-round team score of 606 (300-306). Grove College is in third (619, 304-315) and is followed by Thiel College in fourth (620, 312-308), Waynesburg University in fifth (670, 333-337), Geneva College in sixth (679, 334-345) and Saint Vincent College in seventh (682, 338-344). W&J junior Colin Robinson (Inverness, Ill. | William Fremd) earned fall medalist honors after finishing the two rounds with a five-under 139. He shot a 68 Wednesday and a 71 Thursday. Robinson also claimed fall medalist honors in 2019. Grove City first-year junior Anthony Tambellini (Pittsburgh, Pa. | Montour) sits in second place with a two-under 142 (71-71). Westminster junior Jacob Stuckert (Pittsburgh, Pa. | North Hills) is third after recording a one-under 143 (72-71). The final 18 holes of the men’s championship are scheduled for Saturday, April 23 at Oglebay Resort’s Speidel Golf Club in Wheeling, W.Va. with a round on the Robert Trent Jones, Sr. course. The combined 54-hole team totals will determine PAC team champions and winners of the league's automatic qualifying bids to the 2022 NCAA Division III Championships. The All-PAC teams, as well the PAC Players of the Year and PAC Newcomers of the Year, are determined by the combined 54-hole scores from the PAC’s Fall and Spring Championships. The fields for this year’s NCAA Division III Championships are scheduled to be announced Monday, May 2, 2022. The Division III Men's Championship is scheduled for May 10-13 at the Mission Inn Resort and Club in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla.
