GREENVILLE, Pa. (pacathletics.org)--The Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) Indoor Track and Field Championships are scheduled for Thursday, February 27 at Youngstown State University’s Watson and Tressel Training Site (WATTS).

Field events will begin at 1 p.m. Track events will get underway at approximately 3 p.m.

Admission to PAC Championship events is $5 for adults and $2 for students. There will also be a $5 parking fee for spectators.

This year’s PAC Championships will cap the league's sixth official season with men's and women's indoor track and field as championship sports.

At the conclusion of Thursday’s championships, the PAC will recognize its team champions as well the event's Most Outstanding Performers (overall, track, field), Newcomers of the Year, Coaches of the Year and Sportsmanship Team honorees.

The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships are scheduled for Friday-Saturday, March 6-7 at The Armory in Manhattan, New York City. (ECAC standards)  

The NCAA Division III Championships are slated for Friday-Saturday, March 13-14 and will be held at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, N.C. The final descending order lists will be posted by 9 a.m. (EST) on Sunday, March 8 on ncaa.com. The two-day event will be hosted by Guilford College.

Division III National Qualifiers
For each men’s individual event contested (including the heptathlon), the top 20 declared student-athletes will be accepted into the competition. For each woman’s individual event contested (including the pentathlon), the top 20 declared student-athletes will be accepted into the competition. For each relay event contested, the top 12 declared teams will be accepted into the competition. (Current Division III Qualifying Lists: Women | Men)

Women
Westminster claimed the PAC indoor title last February, finishing with 124 points in the 16-event championship. The Titans totaled five individual event championships and a pair of runner-up finishes. It was Westminster’s second indoor title (2016).

Westminster finished third at the outdoor championships last April. 

Chatham's Rebecca Pennington (Petrolia, Pa. | Karns City) ran to first-place finishes in the 3000 (10:20.55) and the 5000 (17:58.46) and finished as the runner-up in the mile (5:20.19) to secure the PAC’s Most Outstanding Performer award after being named the league’s Most Outstanding Track Performer. Her times in both the 3000 and 5000 established new PAC Championships records.

Grove City's Katlyn Adams (Warren, Pa. | Warren) and W&J's Krista Sudar (Monaca, Pa. | Central Valley) were honored as Co-PAC Most Outstanding Field Performers. Adams won the triple jump with a PAC Championships and school-record leap of 34 feet, 11.25 inches (10.65m). She also took third in the long jump (16-10, 5.13m). Sudar won the shot put with a throw of 35-09.50 (10.91m) and finished third in the weight throw (39-04.50, 12.00m).

Westminster head coach Tim McNeil was voted the league’s coach of the year.


Men
Geneva earned its second-straight PAC indoor title last season last February, scoring 155 points in the 16-event championship. The Golden Tornadoes totaled three event championships and five runner-up finishes.

Geneva also claimed its third-straight PAC outdoor team title last April.

Then-Geneva senior Josh Duffie (Canton, Ohio | Glenoak) ran to the individual title in the 3000 (8:43.58), finished as the runner-up in the 5000 (16:04.91) and the mile (4:26.29) and anchored the Golden Tornadoes’ second-place distance medley relay (11:06.46) to secure the PAC’s Most Outstanding Performer award after being named the league’s Most Outstanding Track Performer. Duffie was the runner-up in the 3000 in 2018.

Then-W&J senior Jarrod Webb (Alliance, Ohio | Marlington) earned the PAC Most Outstanding Field Performer award. He claimed titles in the shot put (49-03.50, 15.02m) and weight throw (49-11.75, 15.23m), establishing new PAC Championships records in both events. He was second in the shot put and fourth in the weight throw in 2018.

Geneva head coach Phil Thompson was voted the league’s coach of the year for the second-straight season.
