Finelli comes to Bethany after spending two seasons as an assistant coach at Seton Hill University. In her first season with Seton Hill, the Griffins had their most successful season as a member of NCAA Division II. The team finished with 12 wins and advanced to the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championship Tournament for the first time in school history. "I'm excited to welcome Alyssa to Bethany College," said Director of Athletics Steve Thompson. "She brings a tremendous energy and passion to our program. She was a tremendous competitor at the collegiate level in the classroom and on the field. That competitive drive will be a tremendous asset as she becomes our head coach." Over the past two summers she has played for the Lehigh Valley Tempest in the Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL). Before Seton Hill, Finelli spent one season at Division III Arcadia University as assistant coach. In her one season, she helped lead the Knights to a 17-4 record and the program's first Division III Championship berth since 2005. The Easton, Pennsylvania native has experience coaching at all levels. She moved to Arcadia from Moravian Academy High School in Bethlehem, Pa., where she was the assistant girls varsity coach and head girls junior varsity soccer coach for the fall 2015 season. Finelli was a four-year letter winner and three-year starter for Division I Lafayette College. She made appearances in all but six games throughout her career as an attacker. During her four years, Finelli was a three-year member of the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll and received the Lafayette Alumni of the Lehigh Valley Outstanding Athlete Award her senior year. She also earned multiple Offensive Player of the Week awards from the Patriot League. Information contributed by the Bethany College sports information office
