(pacathletics.org)--Waynesburg University locked up its fourth-straight Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Championships title Friday evening at Grove City College’s Robert E. Thorn Field. Waynesburg totaled 148.50 points during the two-day, 19-event championship event. The title was Waynesburg’s fifth (2013, 2016-19) overall. The championships streak is the longest since Grove City claimed seven straight from 1999-2005. Host Grove City was the runner-up with 120.50 points and was followed by Westminster College in third place with 118.50 points. Washington & Jefferson College was fourth (94), Chatham University was fifth (93.50), Geneva College was sixth (76), Bethany College was seventh (54), Saint Vincent College was eighth (22) and Thiel College was ninth (4). Chatham first-year Rebecca Pennington (Petrolia, Pa. | Karns City) was the voted the PAC’s Overall Most Outstanding Performer after logging first-place finishes in both the 10,000 meter (38:25.94) and 5000 meter (18:20.52) runs. She also finished fourth in the 1500-meter run (5:11.99). Pennington was also the event’s Most Outstanding Performer on the track. Grove City junior Katlyn Adams (Warren, Pa. | Warren) claimed the event’s Most Outstanding Performer in the field award. After winning the triple jump Thursday with a top mark of 35 feet, 9.25 inches (10.90m), she earned her second individual title Friday by winning the long jump with a best mark of 16-07.75 (5.07m). Waynesburg second-year head coach Michelle Cross was voted the league’s coach of the year. It is Cross’ second-straight coach of the year citation. The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Championships are scheduled for Wednesday-Thursday, May 15-16 at Southern Connecticut State University. The NCAA Division III Championships are slated for Thursday-Saturday, May 23-25 at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
