Grove City wins second-straight PAC title

GROVE CITY, Pa. (pacathletics.org)--Second-seeded Grove City College rolled to a 4-1 victory over fourth-seeded Chatham University in the title match of the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Women's Soccer Championship Tournament Saturday night at Don Lyle Field.
It was Grove City's second-straight conference championship. The Wolverines have won seven PAC titles since 1995 (1995, 1996, 1997, 2000, 2001, 2018, 2019). Grove City (12-6-2) has appeared in the conference's title match 18 times, including the last eight straight.
Chatham (8-7-4), in the PAC Championship Tournament for the fourth-straight year, was making its first-ever appearance in the title match.
As the winner of this year's PAC Championship Tournament, Grove City receives the conference's automatic qualifying bid to the NCAA Division III Championship. Forty-three conferences will be granted automatic qualification for the 2019 championship. Team selections, along with the identification of the 16 first and second round host sites, for the 64-team Division III Championship are scheduled to be announced Monday, Nov. 11 at 1 p.m. with an online selection show available at ncaa.com. First and second round matchups are scheduled for Friday-Sunday, Nov. 15-17.
