GREENVILLE, Pa. (pacathletics.org)--The Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) released its All-PAC women's volleyball teams and conference award winners Tuesday afternoon. The league's nine head coaches determined, by vote, this year’s All-PAC teams and annual award winners.

Geneva College junior setter Daphne Hunsinger (Harleysville, Pa. | Christopher Dock) was voted the PAC Player of the Year, while Bethany College freshman middle hitter Sidney Snyder (Steubenville, Ohio | Steubenville) collected the PAC Newcomer of the Year award.

Hunsinger is Geneva's second player of the year award winner. Deanna Briody was voted the player of the year in 2011 after leading the Golden Tornadoes to the league title.

Snyder is the sixth Bethany player to earn newcomer of the year honors, and the first since Reilly Parker in 2015.

PAC Coach of the Year honors went to Westminster College 27th-year head coach Tammy Swearingen. It is Swearingen's fifth coach of the year citation (2002, 2006, 2007, 2008).

Hunsinger helped lead Geneva to the No. 2 seed in this year's PAC Championship Tournament, the program's ninth-straight appearance in the championship tournament since becoming a full NCAA Division III member in 2011. After earning a quarterfinal bye, Geneva recorded a straight-set victory over No. 6 Grove City College in the semifinals before falling to top-seeded Westminster College in Saturday's title match, 3-1. It was Geneva's third all-time appearance in the title match (2011, 2014, 2019).

Hunsinger was named to the All-Tournament Team after the conclusion of this year's event.

A three-time All-PAC selection (first team in 2018 and 2019), Hunsinger led the PAC this season with 991 assists (8.9/set). The total currently ranks 50th among Division III counterparts. She totaled 499 of her assists (9.1/set) in conference play this season. A versatile player for the Golden Tornadoes, Hunsinger posted eight triple-doubles during the year, the second-most in Division III. Her 41 services aces ranked fourth in the league. She also hit .241 (234-58-730), the fifth-best hitting percentage in the conference, and totaled 359 digs (3.2/set) and 43.0 blocks (.40/set). Hunsinger's 49 assists against Westminster on Oct. 12 are tied for the second-most by a PAC player this season.

Snyder had a terrific first season for Bethany, finishing third in the PAC with a .260 hitting percentage (226-85-551) and 79.0 total blocks. She posted a .267 hitting percentage (132-46-322) in league play this year. Snyder's 226 kills were the second-most among Bethany players this season.

Swearingen led Westminster to the No. 1 seed in the conference's championship tournament for the second-straight year and its first PAC title since 2008 Saturday. It was Westminster's fourth PAC championship since becoming eligible for the conference championship in 2002. The Titans have advanced to the tournament’s title match in each of the last three seasons.

By virtue of winning this year's PAC title, Westminster received the conference's automatic qualifying bid to the NCAA Division III Championship. Forty-three conferences were granted automatic qualification privileges for the 2019 championship. The Titans will be making their third appearance (2007, 2008) in the Division III Championship Friday against No. 16 Susquehanna University. Westminster will travel to Baltimore, Md. to compete in the regional being hosted by No. 6 Johns Hopkins University. The Westminster (26-6)-Susquehanna (31-6) match is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.

Geneva received an invitation to the upcoming National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Division II Championship Tournament Monday and will participate in the Mideast Regional this weekend at Boyce College in Louisville, Ky., beginning with a match at 6:30 p.m. Friday. Geneva secured the No. 1 seed in the Mideast Regional and will face the winner of the matchup between No. 4 Welch College and No. 5 Grace Christian University, which is scheduled for Thursday afternoon.

Grove City College was one of 12 schools to earn an invitation to this year’s Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Championship Tournament. It is Grove City’s first postseason appearance since qualifying for the 2013 ECAC Southwest Championship Tournament. The Wolverines are the top seed in Pod 4 of this year’s tournament and will host No. 4 Penn State Altoona at 7 p.m. Wednesday night at the Grove City College Arena.
