Czapski claimed the individual title at Saint Vincent’s Early Bird Invitational Friday afternoon, crossing the line in the six-kilometer, 36-runner race with a time of 24 minutes, 40 seconds. The individual victory marked Czapski’s second-straight title at the event and also helped the Bearcats secure the team title.

Also nominated: Bethany senior Michaela Ross, Chatham senior Taylor Medwid, Grove City sophomore Heidi Hoffman, Thiel freshman Bailey Cribbs, Thomas More sophomore Natalie Kleier, Waynesburg senior Julie Gerber and Westminster sophomore Morgan Camerlo.

Mount Pleasant, Pa. | Mount Pleasant

White finished in fourth place at Saint Vincent’s Early Bird Invitational Friday, covering the six-kilometer track in a time of 25 minutes, 59 seconds. She was one of three Bearcats to finish among the top five individuals. Saint Vincent claimed the team title.

Also nominated: Chatham first-year Lexi Kapla, Grove City freshman Denali Hutzelmann, Thiel freshman Bailey Cribbs and Waynesburg freshman Gianna Pugliano.

Akron, Ohio | Firestone

Moyer was the runner-up at Friday’s eight-kilometer, 110-runner Fisher Invitational, hosted by Westminster, after posting a time of 25 minutes, 42 seconds. His finish helped the Presidents win the team title at the 10-school event.

Also nominated: Bethany junior Jordan Castro, Chatham junior Devin Seka, Grove City senior Nick McClure, Saint Vincent senior Alex Krieger, Thiel senior Christian McElhaney, Thomas More sophomore Oscar Ramirez, Waynesburg freshman Mac Colomb and Westminster senior Josh McFall.

Zelienople, Pa. | Seneca Valley

Razanauskas had a strong first collegiate showing at Westminster’s Fisher Invitational Friday. He finished the eight-kilometer couse in a time of 26 minutes, 22 seconds to finish fifth in the 110-runner field. W&J took home the team title at the 10-school event.

Also nominated: Grove City freshman Malachi Lyon, Saint Vincent freshman Frankie King, Thiel freshman Chad Pakozdi and Waynesburg freshman Mac Colomb.

The Cougars hosted the Chatham Cougar 5K Challenge this weekend at their Eden Hall campus ... Devin Seka finished fourth on the men's side with a time of 17:18 ... On the women's side, Taylor Medwid finished seventh with a time of 21:45 ... Chatham will compete at the Bethany Invitational this weekend.

Geneva men's cross country team ran to a fifth-place finish at Westminster Fisher Invitational on Friday ... The women's team placed seventh ... Clay Smith placed 10th among 110 runners with a final time of 26:51.30 (5:25/mile) ... Sophomore Jennifer Simmons led the women’s efforts, finishing 15th overall with a time of 24:26.40.

The Grove City cross country teams opened the 2017 season by competing at Westminster's Fisher Invitational Friday evening ... The men's team placed fourth while the women earned fifth ... Seniors Nick McClure (6th) and Drew Thibault (7th) led the Wolverine men ... On the women's side, sophomore Heidi Hoffman harnessed ninth place out of 138 competitors ... The Grove City teams are off this weekend and return to action September 16 at the Allegheny Invitational in Meadville.

Both Saint Vincent cross country teams opened the season by finishing first at the SVC Early Bird Invitational ... Maggie Czapski was the overall winner of the women's 6K race, crossing the line in 24:40 ... Teammate Jessica Brinker was third overall (25:56), while newcomer Macey White was fourth (25:59) ... In the men's 8K race, Alex Krieger was second (28:09) while Laurence Jaross was third (28:39).

Both the men's and women's teams began their seasons at Westminster's Fisher Invitational Friday ... The men's team placed ninth ... Senior Christian McElhaney finished 71st overall ... The women's team was led by Bailey Cribbs, who placed 46th overall ... Both teams will return to action on Saturday when they compete in the Bethany Invitational.

At Saturday's Sodexo Grizzly Invitational, hosted by Franklin, Natalie Kleier finished third out of 34 runners with a time of 20:42.50 ... Oscar Ramirez finished second out of 43 with a time of 16:30.68 ... The men's team won the event while the women's team finished third.

The Washington & Jefferson men's cross country team opened the season with a first-place finish at last Friday's Fisher Invitational, which was hosted by Westminster ... The Waynesburg cross country teams opened their respective schedules at Friday's Fisher Invitational, which was hosted by Westminster ... The Yellow Jacket women rolled to the team title, while the men placed sixth out of 10 teams ... The Yellow Jackets were led by three top-10 finishers in the 138-woman field ... Senior Julie Gerber paced Waynesburg with the number-two overall time of 23:28.58, which was the fastest mark put up by a Division III competitor ... She was followed closely across the finish line by classmate Angie Marchetti, who completed the course in 23:28.78 ... Five of Waynesburg's seven scoring runners in the men's competition were competing in their first collegiate race, including the team's top finisher, Mac Colomb ... Colomb took 21st overall out of 110 runners with a time of 27:29.55.

The Westminster men's and women's cross country teams hosted the Fisher Invitational Friday night ... The Titan women's team placed fourth out of nine schools with 98 points, while the men's team placed eighth out of 10 schools, scoring 218 points ... Titan sophomore Morgan Camerlo (23:42.66) and senior Katelynn Morrell (23:51:58) finished fifth and sixth, respectively ... Senior Josh McFall had the highest finish for the men's team in 30th place (27:59.25) ... Westminster will next compete at Penn State Behrend on Saturday, September 16 starting at 11 a.m.
