GREENVILLE, Pa. (pacathletics.org) – Additional regional recognition for Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) football players continues to roll in. Highlighting yesterday’s release of the D3football.com All-South Region team was Washington & Jefferson College senior wide receiver Jesse Zubik (Sewickley, Pa. | Avonworth), who was tabbed the Offensive Player of the Year.

A total of 14 PAC players from four league schools were honored with D3football.com All-Region acknowledgement.

The D3football.com All-Region teams are presented by the City of Salem, hosts of Stagg Bowl XLV.

This is the 13th season D3football.com has named all-region teams. D3football.com’s All-America teams will be announced on Friday, December 15, at the Stagg Bowl.

Also on Tuesday, W&J 15th-year head coach Mike Sirianni was announced as one of five NCAA Division III Regional Coach of the Year selections to be recognized by the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA). Representing Region 2, Sirianni was selected by active members of the AFCA who vote for coaches within their respective regions and divisions.

Zubik, W&J’s first-ever D3football.com Offensive Player of the Year selection, leads Division III with 1,408 receiving yards this season and is tied for fourth with 17 touchdowns. He ranks first among all PAC receivers in yards, touchdowns and receptions (84). The four-year starter and semifinalist for this year’s Gagliardi Trophy, Zubik ranks among the best receivers in Division III history with 291 catches for 4,756 yards and 54 touchdowns. He holds W&J career records for yardage (third in Division III history), receptions (eighth in division III history) and touchdowns (ninth in Division III history) and is the PAC career leader in both yards and touchdowns.

Sirianni earned his seventh PAC Coach of the Year award last month after leading W&J to the postseason for the 13th time in his 15 seasons. The Presidents earned their 18th undefeated regular season in program history – and the 13th under Sirianni’s leadership. In the Presidents' 42-0 win over Waynesburg University on November 11, Sirianni set the program's career wins record by earning his 138th victory, passing former W&J head man John Luckhardt.

The AFCA Regional Coach of the Year award is the first of his career.
