THREE PAC SOCCER PLAYERS HONORED BY NSCAA (3/9/10)
Three PAC soccer players were named to the National Soccer
Coaches Association of America's (NSCAA)
Scholar All-East Region teams. Washington & Jefferson senior
forward Molly Macioce and Westminster junior forward
Danielle Sturble were both named third team. Lauren
Graeser, a senior midfielder from Westminster, was named
honorable mention.
FALL PAC TEAM SPORTSMANSHIP AWARD WINNERS RELEASED (12/10/09)
The Presidents’ Athletic
Conference (PAC) has announced the
PAC Team Sportsmanship Award
winners for Fall 2009 sports. The PAC Team Sportsmanship
Award was started in the 2008-09 sports season, and is an effort
to recognize and encourage positive sportsmanship among
conference teams. The award is sponsored by the PAC
Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) and is presented to one
team in each of the 19 PAC-sponsored varsity sports.
SEVERAL PAC PLAYERS NAMED ALL-GREAT LAKES (12/7/09)
Five players from three different PAC schools were named
All-Great Lakes region by the National Soccer Coaches
Association of America (NSCAA).
Thomas More had three players named to the list, including
Deanna Goshdigian, who was named first team. Fellow
Saint, goalkeeper Jenna Kramer, along with midfielder
Spencer Ahrenholtz of Washington & Jefferson, were named
to the second team. Thomas More defender Kaitlyn Cohen
and Grove City's Michelle Peck were named to the third
team.
GROVE CITY'S OSTLUND NAMED ECAC ALL-STAR (12/3/09)
Grove City College soccer standout Emily Ostlund was
named to the
2009 ECAC Division III South Women's Soccer All-Star Second Team.
Ostlund, a junior midfielder, was an All-PAC first team honoree.
2009 ALL-PAC WOMEN'S SOCCER TEAMS ONLINE (11/18/09)
The PAC has released the 2009
all-conference teams and postseason award winners in
women's soccer. Grove City senior Michelle Peck
garnered MVP laurels, while Wolverine head coach Melissa
Lamie garnered Coach of the Year recognition.
AHRENHOLTZ NAMED ACADEMIC ALL-AMERICAN (11/18/09)

Spencer Ahrenholtz
was selected to the
ESPN The Magazine/College Sports Information Directors of
America (CoSIDA) National Academic All-America Women’s Soccer
Team on Tuesday. Ahrenholtz was a third-team honoree.
Ahrenholtz becomes the 24th student-athlete in
Washington & Jefferson
College
history to earn the prestigious honor. She is the first
women’s soccer player in school history to be named a CoSIDA/ESPN
The Magazine Academic All-American.
PAC SOCCER TEAMS FALL IN POSTSEASON PLAY (11/14/09)
PAC soccer and volleyball teams had a rough time in
postseason play this week, as all three conference NCAA
representatives dropped opening round games.
Thomas More men's soccer dropped a
4-2 decision at Carnegie Mellon on Saturday, while
W&J women's soccer was defeated at Calvin
4-0 on Friday.
Thomas More volleyball won its opening set against St.
Mary's (Minn.) on Thursday, but could not hold on as the Saints
were defeated
3-1 in the opening round match at Washington University in
St. Louis Thursday. In ECAC playoff action, Saint Vincent
volleyball
opened play with a 3-2 first round victory at Penn State-Behrend
Wednesday,
before falling at top-seeded DeSales 3-1 on Saturday.
Finally,
Grove
City women's soccer suffered a
2-1
setback to Behrend in an ECAC first round match in Erie on
Wednesday.
MACIOCE NAMED PAC SAAC SCHOLAR-ATHLETE (11/10/09)
The PAC announced today that women's soccer
standout Molly Macioce of Washington & Jefferson College
have been named PAC
Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) Female Scholar-Athlete
of the Month for November, 2009.
W&J FACES CALVIN IN NCAA TOURNEY OPENER (11/9/09)
All three PAC champions in soccer and volleyball have
received automatic bid to NCAA Division III playoff action this
week, as brackets and matchups were announced by the NCAA this
morning. PAC women's soccer champion Washington & Jefferson is
also on the road this weekend, as the Presidents (12-6-2) head
to Grand Rapids, Mich., to face Calvin College (13-4-1) this
Friday at 1:30 p.m. in the
NCAA D-III women's soccer tournament first round. In
NCAA D-III men's soccer tournament action, PAC champion
Thomas More (17-2-1) will travel to Pittsburgh to face Carnegie
Mellon (14-2-1) in an opening round contest this Saturday at
1:30 p.m. In
volleyball, PAC champion Thomas More (28-10) heads to Saint
Louis for a first round
NCAA D-III Tournament matchup on Thursday against St. Mary's
(Minn.) (21-9) for a 6 p.m. EST (5 p.m. CST) game hosted at
Washington University.
GCC WOMEN'S SOCCER EARNS ECAC BID (11/9/09)
The Grove City women's soccer team has received
a bid to compete in 2009 ECAC Division III Championship
Tournaments this week. The PAC regular season champion Wolverine
kickers
are the fifth seed in the eight-team
2009 ECAC Division
III South Region Women's Soccer Tournament and will play against
#4 seed Penn State-Behrend on Wednesday (Nov. 11) at 2:30 p.m.
at Gannon University in Erie. The semifinals and finals will
take place on Saturday and Sunday (Nov. 14-15) at the site of
the highest remaining seed following the opening round of play.
WASHINGTON & JEFFERSON UPSETS GROVE CITY 1-0; PRESIDENTS EARN
SECOND STRAIGHT TITLE (11/7/09)
Freshman Chrissy Marcius scored the lone goal in the
60th minute to lift third-seeded Washington & Jefferson to a
1-0
upset victory at top-seeded Grove City in the championship match
of the 2009 PAC Women's Soccer Championship Tournament
today.
With the victory, head coach Pete Curtis and the
President kickers earned the PAC's automatic bid to the 2009
NCAA Division III playoffs, beginning next week.
GROVE CITY, W&J ADVANCE TO PAC FINALS

Top-seeded Grove City will face third seed and defending PAC
champion Washington & Jefferson for the 2009 PAC title this
weekend, after both squads posted tournament semifinal wins in
the 2009 PAC Women's Soccer Championship Tournament on Tuesday,
Nov. 3. The Wolverines shut out fourth seed Westminster 2-0,
while the Presidents outlasted second seed Thomas More 2-1 in
double overtime. Grove City will now host W&J for the 2009 PAC
crown and the conference automatic bid to the 2009 NCAA Division
III playoffs this Saturday, Nov. 7 at 1 p.m.
PAC HAS 13 NAMED ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT (10/30/09)
The College Sports
Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) have released
their 2009
ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District soccer teams,
which are loaded with PAC student-athletes. A conference-record
23 PAC soccer players (13 women, 10 men) have been named to
the squads, including four first team honorees who now move on
to the Academic All-America ballot.
For the women, All-District II first team honorees were
seniors
Megan Cook of Bethany and
Spencer Ahrenholtz
of W&J. Second team laurels went the Grove City duo of
Lauren
Woodring and Emily Ostlund, W&J senior
Molly
Macioce, and Westminster sophomore
Samantha Killmeyer.
Third team selections included four GCC players -
seniors
Bethany Preston, Elise Bender, Hannah Yang and Michelle
Peck - as well as senior Chrissy Fiori of Chatham and
sophomore
Tyler Dever of Westminster. Thomas More junior
Andrea Carr was also a third team honoree in District IV.

TMC BREAKS INTO NSCAA NATIONAL TOP 25 (10/14/09)
The unbeaten Thomas More women's soccer program (11-0, 2-0
PAC) has broken into the
National
Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Division III
National Top 25 poll this week in the #25 spot. It marks the
first time in school history that the Saint women have been
nationally ranked.
