2010 PAC PREVIEW: PARITY REIGNS AT THE TOP (8/25/10)
When the Thomas More Saints captured their first-ever PAC men's soccer championship with a 1-0 title match victory over Washington & Jefferson last season, it continued a trend of parity at the top of the PAC standings. With the victory, TMC became the fourth different PAC champion in men's soccer in the past five seasons, joining Westminster (2006, '08), Grove City (2005) and W&J (2007). This year, the four recent champions will be pushed by a group of steadily improving young programs looking to move into the upper echelon of the conference. GENEVA NAMES GARY DUNDA HEAD COACH (4/29/10)
Geneca College has hired Gary Dunda as the new head coach of the Golden Tornado men's soccer program. He replaces Todd Beall, who resigned after four seasons to take the head coaching position at his alma mater, Cedarville University. Dunda comes to College Hill after serving as head coach at Division III Goucher College for the past 10 seasons, following previous coaching stints at Missouri Valley and Ottawa. He is a 1997 graduate of national D-III soccer power Messiah, where he was a four-year letterman, and also earned a master's degree from Emporia State in 2001.

TWO PAC SOCCER PLAYERS HONORED BY NSCAA (3/9/10)
Two PAC soccer players were named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America's (NSCAA) Scholar All-East Region teams. Thomas More junior forward Aaron Osborne was named to the third team, while Westminster junior midfielder Aaron Zavora was listed honorable mention.

SVC'S FECIK HONORED BY PAC SAAC (1/20/10)
Senior PAC student-athlete Matt Fecik of Saint Vincent College  has been named PAC Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) Men's Scholar-Athlete of the Month for January 2010.

PAC TEAM SPORTSMANSHIP WINNERS RELEASED (12/10/09)
The Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) has announced the PAC Team Sportsmanship Award winners for Fall 2009 sports. The PAC Team Sportsmanship Award was started in the 2008-09 sports season, and is an effort to recognize and encourage positive sportsmanship among conference teams. The award is sponsored by the PAC Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) and is presented to one team in each of the 19 PAC-sponsored varsity sports.

SVC DUO HONORED ON ECAC ALL-STAR TEAMS (12/3/09)
A pair of Saint Vincent soccer standouts - Ben Fecik and Luis Rodriguez - have been named to the 2009 ECAC Division III South Men's All-Star Teams. Fecik, a senior midfielder, was a first team selection, while Rodriguez, a senior forward, earned second team recognition. Both players earned PAC Coaches Honors in 2009.

2009 ALL-PAC MEN'S SOCCER TEAMS RELEASED (11/18/09)
The PAC has released the 2009 all-conference teams and postseason award winners in men's soccer. Thomas More junior F Aaron Osborne was named MVP, while Saint mentor Jeff Cummings was tabbed as Coach of the Year.

PAC SOCCER TEAMS FALL IN POSTSEASON PLAY (11/14/09)
PAC soccer and volleyball teams had a rough time in postseason play this week, as all three conference NCAA representatives dropped opening round games. Thomas More men's soccer dropped a 4-2 decision at Carnegie Mellon on Saturday, while W&J women's soccer was defeated at Calvin 4-0 on Friday. Thomas More volleyball won its opening set against St. Mary's (Minn.) on Thursday, but could not hold on as the Saints were defeated 3-1 in the opening round match at Washington University in St. Louis Thursday. In ECAC playoff action, Saint Vincent volleyball opened play with a 3-2 first round victory at Penn State-Behrend Wednesday, before falling at top-seeded DeSales 3-1 on Saturday. Finally, Grove City women's soccer suffered a 2-1 setback to Behrend in an ECAC first round match in Erie on Wednesday.

CALLAHAN NAMED PAC SAAC SCHOLAR-ATHLETE (11/10/09)
The PAC announced today that men's soccer standout David Callahan of Geneva College has been named PAC Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) Male Scholar-Athlete of the Month for November, 2009.

THOMAS MORE HEADS TO CMU IN NCAA TOURNEY (11/9/09)
All three PAC champions in soccer and volleyball have received automatic bid to NCAA Division III playoff action this week, as brackets and matchups were announced by the NCAA this morning. In NCAA D-III men's soccer tournament action, PAC champion Thomas More (17-2-1) will travel to Pittsburgh to face Carnegie Mellon (14-2-1) in an opening round contest this Saturday at 1:30 p.m. PAC women's soccer champion Washington & Jefferson is also on the road this weekend, as the Presidents (12-6-2) head to Grand Rapids, Mich., to face Calvin College (13-4-1) this Friday in the NCAA D-III women's soccer tournament first round. In volleyball, PAC champion Thomas More (28-10) heads to Saint Louis for a first round NCAA D-III Tournament matchup on Thursday against St. Mary's (Minn.) (21-9) for a 6 p.m. EST (5 p.m. CST) game hosted at Washington University.

TMC TOPS W&J 1-0 FOR FIRST PAC CROWN (11/8/09)
An Aaron Osborne goal off an assist from Joey Tensing just 7:50 into the game proved to be all Thomas More College needed on Sunday, as the top-seeded Saints (17-2-1) captured their first-ever PAC Men's Soccer Championship by virtue of a 1-0 home victory over third-seeded Washington & Jefferson College at The Bank of Kentucky Field. TMC goalkeeper Zack Lawson made three saves in the shutout victory over the Presidents. With the win, the Saints secured the PAC's automatic bid to the 2009 NCAA Division III Playoffs, with brackets scheduled to be announced tomorrow (Monday, Nov. 9) at 10 a.m.

THOMAS MORE, W&J REACH PAC FINALS (11/4/09)
Both the top-seeded Thomas More Saints and third seeded Washington & Jefferson posted blowout semifinal wins on Wednesday (Nov. 4) to advance to the finals of the 2009 PAC Men's Soccer Championship Tournament. The Saints recorded a 3-0 win over visiting fourth seed Grove City in the afternoon, while W&J scored three second half goals to upset second seed Westminster 4-0 on the road Wednesday night. TMC and W&J met in Washington during the regular season, with the Saints posting a 5-1 victory. Due to a facility conflict with the Thomas More home field this Saturday, the championship contest will be played on Sunday (Nov. 8) at 1 p.m. at Bank of Kentucky Field in Crestview Hills, Ky.

PAC HAS 10 NAMED ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT (10/30/09)
The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) have released their 2009 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District soccer teams, which are loaded with PAC student-athletes. A conference-record 23 PAC soccer players (13 women, 10 men) have been named to the squads, including four first team honorees who now move on to the Academic All-America ballot. For the men, earning first team laurels was W&J junior Sean Maddock and Grove City junior Chuck Witt. Second team selections in District II were Saint Vincent senior Ben Fecik and Grove City sophomore Brian Eckenhoff, while Aaron Osborne of Thomas More was a District IV second teamer. Third team honors went to five players - senior Joel Metz and junior Austin Bernal of Grove City, junior Aaron Zavora and sophomore Coty Hainsey of Westminster, and junior Stephen Bosak of W&J.

GENEVA'S MANN NAMED NCCAA CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK
The GT's sophomore forward, Josh Mann, was named NCCAA national soccer co-player of the week. Mann has led Geneva's offensive charge with a team-best eight goals this season, including three last week.

GENEVA'S CALLAHAN GRABS NCCAA NATIONAL HONORS
Geneva's senior goalkeeper David Callahan has been named the National Christian College Athletic Association's (NCCAA) national player of the week. Callahan becomes the first Geneva student-athlete to receive the national award this season.

BETHANY HIRES REGAN AS HEAD COACH
Sean Regan was selected as the new head men’s soccer coach at Bethany College on December 22. Regan, who owns coaching badges from the Irish Football Association and United States Soccer Association, comes to Bethany after serving as an assistant for three seasons at PAC rival Washington & Jefferson. A 2005 graduate of Wheeling Jesuit University, he helped the Cardinals claim two WVIAC regular season titles (2001, 2003) and one conference tournament championship (2003) as a player. Regan replaces Kosmas Mouratidis, who resigned following the 2008 season.
