GROVE CITY, Pa. (pacathletics.org)--Geneva College claimed its third-straight Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) Men’s Outdoor Track and Field Championships title Friday evening at Grove City College’s Robert E. Thorn Field.

Geneva totaled 212 points during the two-day, 19-event championship event. It’s the highest point total posted by a men’s team champion since Grove City rolled up 212.50 points in 2008.

Host Grove City was the runner-up with 133 points and was followed by Westminster College in third place with 108 points. Washington & Jefferson College was fourth (89), Saint Vincent College was fifth (60), Thiel College was sixth (50), Bethany College was seventh (42), Waynesburg University was eighth (29) and Chatham University was ninth (17).

Geneva senior Josh Duffie (Canton, Ohio | Glenoak) was the voted the PAC’s Overall Most Outstanding Performer after logging a first-place finish in the 3000-meter steeplechase (9:59.04) and additional runner-up finishes in the 10,000 meter (33:07.20) and 5000-meter (15:58.02) runs. Duffie was also the event’s Most Outstanding Performer on the track.

Grove City sophomore Seth Ray (Brookville, Pa. | Brookville) claimed the event’s Most Outstanding Performer in the field award after winning the high jump with a top mark of 6 feet, 2.75 inches (1.90m), a runner-up finish in the triple jump (42-10.25, 13.06m) and sixth-place finish in the javelin (155-07, 47.44m).

Geneva fifth-year head coach Phil Thompson was voted the league’s coach of the year. It is Thompson’s third-straight coach of the year citation.

The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Championships are scheduled for Wednesday-Thursday, May 15-16 at Southern Connecticut State University. The NCAA Division III Championships are slated for Thursday-Saturday, May 23-25 at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
