GREENVILLE, Pa. (pacathletics.org)--The Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) released the results of its men’s indoor track and field preseason coaches’ poll Friday and Geneva College was selected by the league’s 10 head coaches to capture this year’s PAC title.

The PAC released its preseason coaches’ poll results in conjunction with its annual athletes to watch list.

Geneva, led by fifth-year head coach Phil Thompson, claimed the top spot in the preseason coaches’ poll after totaling seven first-place votes and 88 combined points. The Golden Tornadoes earned their second-straight PAC indoor title last season at Youngstown State University’s Watson and Tressel Training Site (WATTS), scoring 155 points in the 16-event championship. Geneva posted three event championships and five runner-up finishes.

Geneva has also won three-straight PAC outdoor track and field titles.

Washington & Jefferson College and second-year head coach Derek Workman secured a pair of first-place vote and 80 points to finish second in this year’s poll. The Presidents posted a runner-up finish at last year’s indoor championships.

Grove City College, led by third-year head coach Jessica Smith, finished third in the coaches’ poll. The Wolverines claimed the final first-place vote and 75 points.

Westminster College was fourth with 62 points. Franciscan University, in its first season as a PAC member, along with Saint Vincent College and Waynesburg University, tied for fifth with 49 points. Bethany College was eighth (39), Thiel College was ninth (30) and Chatham University was 10th (19).

The 2019-20 athlete’s to watch list includes six returning indoor champions.

Grove City junior Seth Ray (Brookville, Pa. | Brookville) returns as the league's indoor high jump champion. He won the event last winter with a jump of 6 feet, 4 inches (1.93m).
