GREENVILLE, Pa. (pacathletics.org) – The men’s athletic program at Thomas More College and women’s athletic program at Westminster College captured their respective Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) All-Sports Trophies for the 2017-18 academic year.

The all-sports trophies are annually awarded to the schools which perform the best across the board in league competition. First-place finishes are worth 10 points, runner-up finishes are worth nine points ... last place is worth one point.

The all-sports trophy is Thomas More’s second straight. They used spring titles in baseball and tennis and runner-up finishes in golf and outdoor track and field to secure this year’s trophy. Thomas More combined for 88 points in the league’s 11 championship sports, overcoming a 2.50-point deficit after the conclusion of the winter championships.

Washington & Jefferson College was second with 86.50 points while Grove City College finished third (74.50). Westminster College finished fourth (60.50), Saint Vincent College was fifth (54.50), Geneva College was sixth (54), Bethany College was seventh (50.50), Waynesburg University was eighth (49.50), Thiel College was ninth (38.50) and Chatham University was 10th (6.50).

The Westminster women overcame a seven-point deficit after the winter season to claim its ninth all-sports trophy, and second straight, with runner-up finishes in both softball and outdoor track and field and a third-place showing in golf this spring. Westminster totaled 76.50 points in the league’s 10 championship sports, besting second-place Grove City (71.50) by five points.

Thomas More was third with 71 points. W&J finished fourth (67) and was followed by Saint Vincent in fifth (56), Geneva in sixth (45.50), Waynesburg in seventh (45), Bethany in eighth (42.50), Chatham in ninth (33.50) and Thiel in 10th (13.50).
