Geneva men lock up second-straight PAC outdoor track & field championship
PAC Championships results
NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. (pacathletics.org) – Geneva College cruised to its second-straight Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) Men’s Outdoor Track & Field team title Thursday evening at Westminster College’s Burry Stadium.
Geneva totaled 173 points during the two-day, 19-event championship event.
Thomas More College was the runner-up with 112 points. Grove City College was third (102), Washington & Jefferson College was fourth (97), Bethany College was fifth (73.33), host Westminster was sixth (64), Waynesburg University was seventh (45.33), Thiel College was eighth (41), Saint Vincent College was ninth (28) and Chatham University was 10th (4.33).
W&J junior Harley Moyer (Akron, Ohio | Firestone) was voted the meet’s overall Most Outstanding Performer after wins in the 10,000 meters (32:18.12), 5,000 meters (15:12.12) and 1,500 meters (4:01.84). Moyer was also the event’s Most Outstanding Performer on the track.
Bethany sophomore Baboucar Sallah-Mohammed (Arlington, Va. | Fishburne Military) claimed the event’s Most Outstanding Performer in the field award after winning the triple jump (43-9.75, 13.35m) and the long jump (23-4.75, 7.13m). He also finished third in the 200 meters (22.361).
Wednesday evening, Grove City senior Quinton Reed (Oil City, Pa. | Oil City) won the javelin for the third-straight year with a throw of 173 feet, 2 inches (52.78m).
Geneva fourth-year head coach Phil Thompson was voted the league’s coach of the year.
The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships are scheduled for Wednesday-Thursday, May 16-17 at Johns Hopkins University. (ECAC standards)
The NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships will be held Thursday-Saturday, May 24-26 at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. (Division III Qualifying Lists: Women | Men)
