GREENVILLE, Pa. (pacathletics.org) – The Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) announced its 2017 All-PAC Softball teams and annual award winners Monday afternoon.

The All-PAC Softball teams, along with the PAC's annual award winners, are determined by vote of the league's 10 head coaches.

Thomas More College sophomore pitcher Alix DeDreu (Rising Sun, Ind. | Rising Sun) was selected as the 2017 PAC Player of the Year, while Thomas More ninth-year head coach Lindsay Eagan collected PAC Coach of the Year honors.

DeDreu, a First Team selection as an outfielder in 2016, is Thomas More’s sixth PAC Player of the Year award winner. She was recognized as the championship tournament’s Most Outstanding Player Sunday afternoon.

In nine league starts (10 appearances), she went 9-0 with a 0.49 earned-run average (ERA), 43 strikeouts, six complete games and three shutouts.

At the plate, DeDreu finished third in PAC games in hitting with a .468 average (29-of-62) while posting four doubles, a triple, 22 runs and 14 RBIs. She ranked second among league counterparts in runs scored and tied for third in hits.

Overall, DeDreu leads the PAC in victories (19), ERA (0.96), opponent batting average (.193) and earned runs allowed (19) while ranking third in strikeouts (115) and sixth in innings pitched (139.0). She ranks sixth in the league in hitting (.414) and is tied for sixth in total bases (72). DeDreu is second in the PAC in both hits (60) and runs scored (40) while ranking eighth in RBIs (30).

Thomas More finished its PAC regular season a perfect 18-0 before recording three-straight victories in this year’s PAC Championship Tournament to earn the program’s sixth league title. DeDreu went 3-0 in the circle last weekend for the top-seeded Saints, posting a 0.66 ERA in three complete-game wins. She combined to strike out 17 while issuing just a pair of walks during the championship tournament.

The PAC Coach of the Year award is Eagan’s fourth (2009, 2010, 2013). She has led Thomas More to five PAC Championship Tournament titles since 2009 and five-straight appearances in the league’s championship tournament. By claiming the championship tournament title Sunday, Thomas More secured the league's automatic qualifying bid to the NCAA Division III Softball Championship, marking the program’s eighth Division III Championship appearance and sixth under Eagan.

Thomas More will travel to Mount Berry, Georgia to face host and second-ranked Berry College (38-2), winners of the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) title, in regional round action on Friday, May 12.

The Saints finished tied for second (2 first-place votes, 84 points) with Westminster College on this year’s PAC Softball Preseason Coaches’ Poll, which was released on February 14.

Grove City and third-year head coach Kristen Hughes-Cramer were selected as the PAC Team Sportsmanship Award winners.
