GREENVILLE, Pa. (pacathletics.org) – The Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) released its 2017 All-PAC women's volleyball teams and conference award winners Tuesday. The conference’s 10 head coaches selected this year’s All-PAC teams and the league’s annual award winners.

Westminster College senior middle hitter Lexie Yoho (Pittsburgh, Pa. | Our Lady of the Sacred Heart) was named the PAC Player of the Year, while Thomas More College first-year outside hitter Carlee Lambert (Cincinnati, Ohio | McAuley) collected the PAC’s Freshman of the Year award.

Yoho is Westminster’s fourth all-time player of the year selection, and first since Jess Cooper in 2007.

Lambert is the seventh Thomas More player to secure freshman of the year honors since the Saints became affiliated with the league in 2005.

PAC Coach of the Year honors went to Chatham University second-year head coach Dylan Lasher.

Yoho helped Westminster compile a 26-6 overall record and 15-3 mark in the league this season, earning the number two seed in last weekend’s PAC Championship Tournament. The Titans fell to top-seeded Thomas More College 3-1 in Saturday’s title match at the Connor Convocation Center in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.

A three-time All-PAC First Team selection, Yoho led the league while ranking 11th among all NCAA Division III counterparts with a .375 hitting percentage (407-92-841) this season. She also led the PAC with 105 blocks (36-69), which rank 36th nationally, and finished third in the league in both total kills (407) and kills per set (3.73). Yoho’s 1,339 kills and 425 blocks rank second and fourth, respectively, all-time at Westminster. Both totals currently rank sixth all-time in the PAC.

Lambert has appeared in 32 matches (99 sets) this season for league champion Thomas More (29-5, 18-0 PAC). She’s hitting .235 and has totaled 276 kills, which rank ninth in the PAC. Her .279 kills per set average currently sits eighth in the league. Lambert has also chipped in defensively with 59 digs and 30 blocks.

Lasher led Chatham (17-11, 8-10 PAC) to its’ first-ever berth in the league’s championship tournament this season. The sixth-seeded Cougars suffered a five-set loss at third-seeded and defending PAC champion Bethany College on September 31, marking Chatham’s sixth five-set match this season. His first career win, a 3-0 victory over Waynesburg University on Sept. 26, 2016, was Chatham’s first-ever win in the PAC since securing league membership in 2007.

By virtue of securing this year’s PAC Championship Tournament title, Thomas More earned the league’s automatic qualifying bid to the Division III Championship. The Saints, led by 10th-year head coach John Spinney, will travel to seventh-ranked Emory University (27-6), which was selected to host first and second round matches this week in Atlanta, to face 23rd-ranked Christopher Newport University (27-3) Thursday evening.

On Monday, Bethany and Westminster were extended invitations to participate in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Women’s Volleyball Championship. The 13-team championship tournament features four pods with first round play getting underway Wednesday evening. Westminster, the number two seed in the fourth pod, will host third-seeded Penn State Altoona (13-13) at 7 p.m. Bethany (22-12), the number four seed in the third pod, will travel to McDaniel College (19-8), the pod’s third seed, for a 7 p.m. match.
