GREENVILLE, Pa. (pacathletics.org) – The Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) released its 2016 All-PAC men's soccer teams and yearly award winners Thursday.

The ballot for the all-conference teams and annual award winners was voted on by the league’s nine head men’s soccer coaches.

PAC Player of the Year honors went to Grove City College senior midfielder Dale Reese (Rocky Hill, Conn. / Loomis Chaffee), while PAC Coach of the Year honors went to Geneva College seventh-year head coach Gary Dunda.

Reese is the sixth Grove City player to be named the league’s Player of the Year since 1996.

A three-time All-PAC selection and two-time first team pick, Reese was recently named a member of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Men’s Soccer Team. He ranks third in the PAC in points (29), second in assists (9) and is tied for third in goals scored (10). His six game-winning goals lead the league.

A captain on this year’s Grove City squad that has posted a 14-4-1 overall record and 6-1-1 mark in the PAC, Reese has totaled 28 goals, 19 assists and 75 points in 74 career matches. His 19 assists currently rank second among the school’s career leaders. He finished the eight-match PAC regular season with four goals, four assists and 12 points.

Grove City recently made its ninth-straight trip to the PAC Championship Tournament and has been selected to compete in this year’s Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III South Men’s Soccer Championship. The Wolverines, led by 11th-year head coach Mike Dreves, enter the tournament as the number two seed and will face third-seeded Arcadia University Saturday at 2 p.m. at Lebanon Valley College.

Dunda led top-seeded Geneva (16-3-1, 8-0 PAC) to its first-ever PAC Championship Tournament title last Saturday after securing a 2-1 overtime victory against third-seeded Thomas More College in the league’s championship tournament title match. Winners of 14-straight matches, Geneva earned the league’s automatic qualifying bid to this year’s NCAA Division III Championship and will travel to 14th-ranked Franklin & Marshall College Friday for a 5 p.m. first round match.

The PAC Team Sportsmanship Award was claimed by Grove City for the third time in the last four years. The PAC’s Team Sportsmanship Award program was started during the 2008-09 sports season and is an ongoing effort to recognize and encourage positive sportsmanship among conference teams.
