GREENVILLE, Pa. (pacathletics.org) – The men's athletic program at Waynesburg University and women's athletic program at Grove City College captured their respective Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) All-Sports Trophies for the 2014-15 academic year.

The all-sports trophies are annually awarded to the schools which perform the best across the board in league competition. First-place finishes are worth 10 points (nine for men), second place is worth nine points (eight for men) ... last place is worth one point.

Waynesburg used a second-place showing in outdoor track and field and third-place finishes in baseball and tennis to earn its first PAC All-Sports Trophy since joining the league in 1990-91. Waynesburg was second (57) in last year’s All-Sports Trophy race.

The Yellow Jackets totaled 65.5 points in the conference’s 11 championship sports, edging second-place Saint Vincent College (62.5) by three points. The Bearcats used a second-place showing in golf to secure their best finish in the All-Sports Trophy standings since earning runner-up honors in 2011-12.

Grove City College finished third with 60 points, followed by Washington & Jefferson College (55.5), Westminster College (53.5), Thomas More College (53), Thiel College (42), Bethany College (41) and Geneva College (28).

The Grove City women led wire-to-wire this year to secure their third-straight PAC All-Sports Trophy. The Wolverines have finished among the top two in each of the last six years.

A spring team title in outdoor track and field helped Grove City best runner-up Westminster College for the third-straight year. Grove City totaled 79 points in the league’s 10 championship sports. Westminster posted second-place finishes in outdoor track and field and golf to finish the year with 74 points.

Thomas More College was third with 69 points, followed by Washington & Jefferson College (58.5), Saint Vincent College (58), Bethany College (49.5), Waynesburg University (48), Thiel College (42.5), Geneva College (39.5) and Chatham University (14).
