(pacathletics.org) – Grove City College earned titles in all six individual flights and in two of three doubles flights to collect its 25th straight Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) Men’s Tennis Championship Saturday afternoon at The Pennbriar Athletic Club. This season's event marked the 13th year the league has held its annual championship tournament at The Pennbriar. Grove City totaled 52 team points during the two-day event. Washington & Jefferson College finished in second place with 37 team points and claimed the number two doubles flight title. Waynesburg University finished third with 14 team points, followed by Westminster College in fourth (13), Thomas more College in fifth (9), Saint Vincent College in sixth (6), Bethany College in seventh (4) and Thiel College in eighth (0). Grove City senior Peter Riley (Woodbury, Pa. / Northern Bedford) posted a 7-6 (7-5), 6-1 win over W&J freshman Sean Carrick (Vero Beach, Fla. / Vero Beach) in the title match of the number singles flight to collect his third PAC Player of the Year award. Riley, the Player of the Year in 2012 and 2014, is the league’s first three-time MVP since Grove City’s Patrick Donahue (2001-03). Riley and senior Colby Beighy (Fombell, Pa. / Riverside) secured an 8-1 victory over W&J senior Samuel Miller (Cheswick, Pa. / Shady Side Academy) and sophomore Micah Byrum (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Obama Academy) in the first doubles flight championship match. W&J fourth-year head coach Chris Faulk was voted the league’s Coach of the Year for the second-straight year. Grove City was also voted as the league’s Team Sportsmanship Award winner.
