(pacathletics.org) – The Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) announced its 2014-15 All-PAC Women’s Basketball teams and yearly award winners between the championship tournament semifinal games Friday evening at top-seeded Thomas More College's Connor Convocation Center. Thomas More junior guard/forward Sydney Moss (St. Albans, W. Va./Boone County (Ky.)) was voted the league’s Player of the Year, while Saint Vincent College fourth-year head coach Jimmy Petruska was voted the conference’s Coach of the Year. Claiming new conference postseason awards were Bethany College freshman forward Kelsea Daugherty (Newport, Ohio/Frontier), voted the PAC Freshman of the Year, and Grove City College junior forward Kathryn Erbelding (Rochester, N.Y./Greece Olympia), voted the league's Defensive Player of the Year. Geneva College and fourth-year head coach Lori Wynn were selected as the PAC's Team Sportsmanship Award winner. The all-conference teams, as well as the PAC's yearly award winners, are determined, by vote, of the 10 conference head coaches. This season, Moss leads the PAC and ranks fifth among all NCAA Division III counterparts in scoring average (21.8 points per game) and is second in the league, and fourth Division III, in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.9). She also ranks fourth in field goal percentage (51.9%, 207-of-399), eighth in three-point field goals made (36) and is ninth among conference leaders in rebounds per game (6.8), assists per game (3.8), three-point field goal percentage (36.4%, 36-of-99) and free throw percentage (73.1%, 95-of-130). As of the NCAA’s most recent Division III national rankings release (Feb 26), Moss is fourth among active leaders in field goals made (747) and fifth in scoring average (19.9 points per game). Moss is just the sixth PAC women’s player to earn multiple Player of the Year awards, dating back to the league’s first full season in 1984-85. Petruska has Saint Vincent in the PAC Championship Tournament semifinal round for the fifth-straight season since taking over the program in 2011, the school’s first season as full league members. The Bearcats have four seasons with 20 or more wins under Petruska’s direction. Daugherty is the league’s third-leading rebounder, averaging 8.6 rebounds per game, and fifth-highest scorer, averaging 16.0 points per game. She is tops among all PAC freshmen in both categories. She also ranks eighth among conference leaders in field goal percentage (49.5%, 164-of-331). Daugherty is tied for the most double doubles in the PAC this season with 11. Erbelding leads the PAC in total steals (94) and steals per game (3.5). She is sixth among league counterparts in rebounds per game (7.7) and scoring average (15.2 points per game), ranks ninth in total blocks (19) and 10th in blocks per game (0.7) and field goal percentage (46.3%, 179-of-387).
