The Wolverines claimed championships in each of the three doubles title flights as well as in each of the tournament’s six singles flights, totaling a team score of 54 points. Washington & Jefferson College was third with 21 points, followed by Waynesburg University in fourth (15), Bethany College in fifth (9), Westminster College sixth (8), Thomas More College in seventh (3) and Thiel College in eighth (0). Grove City junior Peter Riley (Woodbury, Pa./Northern Bedford) earned the conference's Player of the Year award after winning the league title at first singles. Riley defeated Saint Vincent senior Sean Malone (Allison Park, Pa./Hampton) in the finals, 6-0, 6-0. Riley was also named the league’s Player of the Year in 2012. PAC Men’s Tennis Coach of the Year honors went to W&J third-year head coach Chris Faulk. Faulk is the first person in league history to win both the PAC Player (2010) and Coach (2014) of the Year awards. Bethany and fifth-year head coach Andrew Sachs were selected as the league's Sportsmanship Award winners. The lone player to repeat as an individual champion was Grove City sophomore Johnathan Graber (Atglen, Pa./Octorara), a title winner at sixth singles in 2013. Graber won his 2014 title at third singles, defeating Waynesburg junior Philip Littlejohn (Union Springs, N.Y./Southern Cayuga) in the championship match, 4-6, 6-2, 6-1. Graber also repeated as a PAC champion in doubles after playing to a title in the number three flight a year ago. This year, Graber teamed with junior Chris Collins (West Chester, Pa./Delaware County Christian) at second singles to post an 8-5 win over W&J freshmen Chad Dille (Cecil, Pa./Canon-McMillan) and Micah Byrum (Pittsburgh, Pa./Obama Academy) in the second doubles title match. Grove City junior Colby Beighey (Fombell, Pa./Riverside) also earned back-to-back doubles titles after pairing with Riley to claim an 8-3 victory in the number one flight championship over Waynesburg junior Isaiah Cochran (Akron, Ohio/Ellet) and freshman Timothy Harris (Monroeville, Pa. / Gateway). Beighey was a member of last year's second doubles championship tandem. By claiming the conference championship, Grove City has earned the PAC’s automatic bid to the 2014 NCAA Division III Men’s Tennis Championship. The NCAA’s selection release show is scheduled for Monday, May 5 at 7 p.m. and can be seen on NCAA.com. The team championships portion of the Division III Championship is scheduled to begin on Monday, May 19.
