Team scores/leaderboard (final)

BELLE VERNON, Pa. (pacathletics.org) – The Saint Vincent College men’s golf squad posted back-to-back Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) team titles following Saturday’s second and final round of 312 at the 2014 PAC Spring Championships.

Cedarbrook Golf Club hosted the league’s annual two-day championship event.

The PAC Championship format features four rounds of competition -- two in the fall and two in the spring. Each of the four rounds count towards the team championship and the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Championships, while Conference Player of the Year and individual All-PAC honors are determined exclusively by scores at the 36-hole PAC Spring Championship.

Saint Vincent fired a 311 during Friday’s opening round to total a two-day Spring Championships score of 623. Combined with their two-day total of 588 at the 2013 Fall Golf Invitational, the Bearcats finished with a 72-hole team score of 1,211.

Washington & Jefferson College finished second with a 72-hole team score of 1,228 (306-298-308-316), followed by Grove City College in third with a 1,247 (310-298-320-319). Thomas More College was fourth with a 1,266 (308-320-317-321), while Thiel College finished fifth with a 1,277 (307-324-322-324). Westminster College was sixth with a 1,335 (330-318-340-347), Waynesburg University was seventh with a 1,418 (377-373-332-336) and Bethany College was eighth with a 1,539 (369-353-405-412).

PAC Player of the Year honors went to Thomas More senior Mike Marcagi (Anderson, Ohio/Anderson) after firing a tournament-low 150 (77-73) in the 44-player field.

Saint Vincent 11th-year head coach Dr. Tom Cline was tabbed the league’s Coach of the Year for the second-straight season.

The 2014 Division III Golf Championship are scheduled for Tuesday-Friday, May 13-16 at the Mission Inn Resort & Club in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla.
