WEST MIDDLESEX, Pa. (pacathletics.org) – The Grove City College women’s golf team secured its first Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) Fall Golf Invitational title since 2010 on Tuesday after completing the two-day, 36-hole event with a four-player stroke total of 721.

Grove City’s 721 is the third-lowest team total scored at a PAC Fall Golf Invitational event.

The 33-player PAC Fall Golf Invitational (5,807 yards, par-71) was hosted by Oak Tree Country Club in West Middlesex, Pa.

The PAC Fall Golf Invitational counts for one-half of the 72-hole team total (combined with the 2014 PAC Golf Championship this coming April), which will determine the 2013-14 PAC team champions and, if all seven of the league’s programs hit NCAA participation minimums, the conference’s first-ever automatic bid for the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament.

Westminster College finished in second place with a two-day, four-player total of 747, followed by Saint Vincent College in third (750), Washington & Jefferson College in fourth (754), Thiel College in fifth (814), Waynesburg University in sixth (947) and Thomas More College in seventh (1,097).

The Wolverines, eight-time PAC golf champions, had three players finish within the field’s top 10.

Grove City junior Esther Durling (Perry, Mich. / Perry) took home PAC Fall Golf Invitational medalist honors for the third-straight year after carding a two-round score of 158 (79-79). Durling’s two-day total matches the previous PAC Fall Golf Invitational two-round low score, set by W&J’s Leslie Walker (80-78) in 2009.

Saint Vincent senior Sarah Rebitch (Delmont, Pa. / Greensburg Salem) finished in second place with a two-day total of 161 (85-76). Rebitch put together the finest women’s single round ever recorded at a PAC Fall Golf Invitational with Tuesday’s 76. W&J’s Walker had held the single-round record since posting a 77 in the first round of the 2008 event.

The 2014 PAC Spring Golf Championships will be held Friday-Saturday, April 25-26 at Cedarbrook Golf Club in Belle Vernon, Pa.
